 Bistro is French enough!

I think this ad is new. But it's for these tings called "Bistro" which is "oh so French". And at the end there is an accordian player, because you think it's in France then the man says in an English accent, words to the affect of "You can fuck off mate, Bistro is French enough for me."

Yes... this is a product made in Germany (I think it says on the screen), by Dr. Oetker, which is a German company, and they are baguettes with topping on, so basically they are elongated pizzas, which are of course Italian, and they are called Bistro which is a French word of Russian origin. Yes, very French.

I hate how the woman giggles when he says that, as if he's said something mind blowingly funny

Clearly these are people who are driven to gastro-orgasm by a slice of old baguette covered in processed ham, bad cheese and suspiciously brightly coloured vegetables. No wonder they sent the accordion away - much too French.

Oh yes, and that would be the accordian, an istrument invented in Austria by a man of Armenian origin. Trés français.

This advert pisses me off so much. For one thing, even the bread isn't a proper baguette, never mind the other pisspoor elements. And the luminous veg make it look like it's gone nuclear.

Still, the oxymoron of "french enough...made by Doktor Oetker (with a fucking German accent!) made me laugh.

Oi George Lamb, how would you like it if I used your name as an ironic catchphrase?

I bet that the mass-produced Croques Messeurs et Madames would send my pizza snobbery tendencies into apoplexy.
And yes, the smug couple advert is really fucking dreadful.

In my humble opinion (disclaimer cos I don't want the legal sledgehammer of Dr Oetkers' lawyers coming down on my puny head) Dr Oetker sounds like the name of a mad scientist who has been grafting ocelot heads on to genetically-enhanced super babies in an abandoned nuclear bunker.

The end of the ad would sounds a lot less jarring if he was saying 'ocelot head super babies from Dr Oetker'

Yeah... but they're a bit mank.

Actually, all frozen pizza. I've gone off it a lot.

The Mozzarella one is my favourite pizza of all time from anywhere... including backstreet pizzerias in Rome.

The way the pesto-ey bits melt into the stringy mozzarella, and the base and the tomato, oh it's so good.

I'm sure Dr Oetker has ripped these off from Findus French Bread Pizzas.
