My guesses (though not my actual preferences):

SEXIEST MALE
Think is between Ricky Whittle/Richard Fleeshman, but will go with Fleeshman. The EE cast don't have a hope in helll in this category.

SEXIEST FEMALE
With regret, Kara Tointon (Dawn Swann)

VILLAIN OF THE YEAR
Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow)

BEST ACTOR
Coronation Street
Antony Cotton (Sean Tully)

BEST ACTRESS
Between
Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow)
Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater)
but probaby the Barlow.

BEST COMEDY PERFORMANCE
Gemma Merna (Carmel McQueen)

BEST NEWCOMER
Kym Ryder (Michelle Connor)

SPECTACULAR SCENE OF THE YEAR
I suspect it will be Emmerdale, but I don't watch it and those scenes sound crap, so...

Hollyoaks
The explosion/fire at The Dog in the Pond

ON-SCREEN PARTNERSHIP
Coronation Street
Sue Cleaver and Ryan Thomas (Eileen and Jason Grimshaw)

BEST SINGLE EPISODE
Coronation Street
Tracy’s confession to Deidre

BEST EXIT
Coronation Street
Bill Ward (Charlie Stubbs)

BEST DRAMATIC PERFORMANCE

EastEnders
Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater)

BEST DRAMATIC PERFORMANCE FROM A YOUNG ACTOR OR ACTRESS
Coronation Street
Sam Aston (Chesney Battersby-Brown)

BEST STORYLINE
Coronation Street
Charlie’s cheating and Tracey’s Revenge (Kate Ford, Bill Ward, Samia Smith)

I'm OUTRAGED that Antony Cotton isn't in the running for sexiest male. OUTRAGED!

I hope Sue Cleaver gets the recognition she rightly deserves, and I'd like to see the Billy and Honey baby storyline in Eastenders get something as it was handled marvellously.

Joking aside, for sexiest male I'd like to see Sean Slater go head to head with Liam Cunningham. In vests and shorts.

Roxanne McKee had better win sexiest female, as compensation for the outrage of not getting nominated for best actress when Gemma Bissix did.

Has he actually had any storylines over the last year? Aside from shagging someone else's boyfriend and emoted the guilt and shame that comes with that what has he done other than provide comic relief?

Exactly, the only storyline he has had was that horrendous Sean/Michelle/Sonny thing and he didn't even do that well.

These soap awards are always a two horse race between Corrie and Eastenders, so I am glad at the outcome, particularly the miserable performance of Eastenders.

Glad Hollyoaks did relatively well, as it has had a very good run recently. I think Gemma Merna's award in particular was very well deserved, she's been great as Carmel. I am also glad of the Emmerdale house collapse getting an award, and, it has to be said, Kym from Hear'Say Marsh Ryder has done a pretty decent job so far.

Perhaps the Best Actor/Actress should be renamed like the National Television Awards and be for Most Popular Actor/Actress, as that is more acurate. Anthony Cotton is a one-trick-pony, but he also won that Soapstar Superstar thing, which suggests he is very popular with people who like to vote hundreds of times for these things.

Saying that, I'd have liked Sue Cleaver to have won the Best Actress one. Kate Ford has had a very high profile storyline, so I suspect that's why she got it. I've never got the fuss over Kate Ford. She is a very poor actress. She's living proof that some actors are only as good as the scripts and storylines they get.

Corrie has been great this last year, and it totally deserved to piss all over EastEnders. I do get nostalgic at these things, because there was a time when Brookside was the "third" soap, and more than held its own against these two. The bf didn't see the results and he was trying to guess who the "Best Actor" and "Best Actress" from Corrie were, and our conclusion was that there weren't actually that many good actors and actresses in the soap; they are all fantastic at doing what they did, but that wasn't actually acting. Whereas with Brookside you had the likes of Sue Johnstone and Ricky Tomlinson and Amanda Burton and Anna Friel and so on, people who were actually damn good actors who happened to be in a soap. EastEnders has got a couple - Pam St Clement springs to mind - but I'd like to see Anthony Cotton's Lear. Or rather I would prefer to have nails rammed into my larynx.

I am tremendously excited to see Gemma Bissix win an award, though, because I thought she was a fabulous little actress in EastEnders all those years ago - she pissed all over Natalie Cassidy - and it's nice to see her get some recognition. Even if it is in a fucking stupid category. If I were the producer of EE I would immediately make her an offer to return to the Square - her return to live with Dot would be a whole lot more realistic than the various Brannings and Eastern European infants she currently lives with.

One for the 'are you fucking kidding' department - Phil bloody Daniels was up for Best Actor?

To paraphrase Simon Cowell, if I was scoring his acting out of a million I'd give it zero!
