I just read on Wikipedia:
Craig is set to leave Hollyoaks in the next few weeks!!!
Can anyone confirm if this is the usual wiki-bollocks or if its true??!!
Knowing Hollyoaks, if Craig does go gay he will be leaving in a few weeks. Dead from AIDS.
Fucking Hollyoaks

In further news, what the fuck have they done to the theme tune. It's like having an ectopic pregnancy in both ears.

I really really really want a zigazigahh hate the new titles. I know this sounds like a snap judgement and that's because it is. It's too fast and swooshy to actually see what's going on and the theme tune is just plain bad. Plus the new logo looks quite cheap and 90s. The whole good bit is Michaela blowing bubblegum.

Hmmmmmmmm.

I honestly can't decide if I love the titles, or hate them. They're a bit too fast and all over the place, but I'm glad they're more up to date. The music is... interesting. It's like a mixture of old and new.

The logo is a bit icky and definitely not as clever as they intended, but quite modern and trendwhorey. It'll do.

I like the break stings, even the Boringtines look half decent.

Haven't seen the closing credits yet, was in the kitchen.

E4 spoilers
I now officially hate all the McQueens apart from JP and Jacqui. They've gone from Best Family Ever to Worst Family Ever in the space of about two episodes. Grr.

In other news, I quite like Swimbint now. She's good in a crisis, unlike Child's parents.

EDIT: I told you JP wasn't the gay bar "type".
Oh he will be!

Mercedes must die however!

Carmel, on the other hand, must come clubbing with me.

If she's real...which she isn't.

E4 episode:
Is it bad that I still love Mercedes? All through her hateful rant I kept thinking it was ok because she looks fantastic. I'm a shallow whorebag, ok? Looks mean more to me than homophobia!

Loved the E4 episode. I really liked how Carmel and Mama McQueen loved being in the gay club. I suppose it was obvious both of those were fag-hags-in-waiting. Mercedes on the other hand has finally cemented her position as a nasty homophobic slapper, but good for Mama McQueen for standing up for John Paul during that.

I also liked the fact John Paul didn't like that gay club much. I've been to places similar to that and I don't blame him.

The ex-Pregnant Child/Amy moments were very well done as well. Amy's acting while pregnant was good and I did feel very sorry for her. I also liked how Sarah handled the situation so well and was every bit the good sister on that occasion, when she hasn't been in the past.
In all fairness to Mercedes, everything she said about gay clubs is 100% true and JP was thinking along the same lines. I think JP is going to end up closest to her when all the dust settles. The STD jibe however was below the belt considering she gave Warren pubic lice last month.
I'm loving Hollyoaks this week, Claire in the credits makes me a happy boy.

E4 Episode: Officially brilliant!
I have to say this was really well done- the club is so similar to many similar hovels I have been to with a similar mix of people (although there were too many drag queens in it!). i just LOVED the scene where JP was picking out what to wear and the girls came in and interrogated him- I laughed out loud when he left the room and they all said "Gay Club" inunison

As for Mercedes- the things she said about JP were absolutely terrible and I felt so sorry for him- particularly as he was thinking a lot of the same things about the club and people before she stuck her oar in. She is a hag plain and simple, no fag-hag.

What on earth is Russ doing with her?? He actually has sense!

As for Sarah- look at how she dealt with Craig after he started palling around with Shouty! I officially think she is great again! ;D
The new titles are hilariously bad. Especially the male/female symbols in the Os. Look, there are both boys and girls in this show! What a revelation! The break bumpers are much better, though. I like the ones with Clare and Louise looking like they're going to cut you, and Nancy/Swimbint/Pregnant Child and co all looking wan and teenage, but the best one, obviously, is the one with the McQueens all glaring into the camera. Love that.

Random: in the pub quiz I went to tonight, one of the questions was to name the top five animals with the longest gestation periods. I was going to suggest "Amy Barnes" for one of our answers.

E4 episode, because that's the one that matters:
When MulletFather said to Swimbint "did you know about this?", was I the only one hoping that her response would be her eyes rolling back into her head and a deep voice intoning "THE MAGIC VAG KNOWS ALL"? That would have ruled.

Pregnant Child's acting: very good indeed.
Pregnant Child's mother: hateful, hateful bitch. Stop making it all about you, you wretched hag. If you hadn't slept with your daughter's boyfriend and split your family up in the process, maybe your youngest daughter wouldn't have thought you'd be too preoccupied to discuss her Impossibly Tiny Foetus.

John Paul was ridiculously cute in this episode. I know we say it a lot, but James Sutton really is very good. He had the whole cheerfully-optimistic-but-also-shit-scared thing down pat, and it seemed like very believable teenage gay behaviour (to me, anyway). Also: having watched the getting-dressed montage, I think that shirt was the right choice. While some of Carmel's behaviour was infuriating, I don't doubt for a second that she genuinely thought she was doing the right thing, so I won't hold it against her.

As several people said upthread, I don't blame JP for his reaction to the club, because it looked like exactly the kind of place I hate. Skoda (and props to whoever coined that nickname) needs to see above re: not taking someone else's Traumatic Rite of Passage and making it all about you. Your brother touching the side of your boyfriend's head while trying to make himself heard in a noisy club does not equal a come-on. John Paul is a far nicer person than you and therefore is unlikely to try to cop off with one of his sisters' boyfriends, and even if he did, I'd like to think he'd have better taste than to aim for Russ. If you want something to worry about, worry about your boyfriend thinking the music was great when they were playing Hi-NRG Kylie remixes and cheesy '90s dance music. Your little speech at the end was completely out of order - even if there may have been a few accurate swipes in there (and after all, even a stopped clock is right twice a day), and how dare you talk to your little brother like that? Besides, the "you'll never amount to anything" speech is a bit rich coming from a clap-addled barmaid with no evidence of brains whose introductory storyline involved her trying to con people out of compensation for a fake injury. Shut up, Skoda.

Best bits: Carmel wondering what the difference was between a fag hag and a lipstick lesbian, and JP's "I don't negotiate with terrorists" and "Yeah, you're subtle - like a drag queen in church!" Awesome.
Totally agree with above.

I think Skoda will stick- although I would prefer Lada. Or maybe Fiesta.

Skodas are quite classy these days!

I quite like Fiesta, as it's a word that sounds vaguely classy as it's Spanish but ultimately is trash. Much like, Mercedes.

Digital spy posters are annoying me. They are complaining about the lack of 'oldies' in the opening credits, not that you would want Mother of Bint in the credits. This 'helpful' list was posted

Quote:
The cast in order of appearance:

Russ Owen
Carmel McQueen
Darren Osbourne
Louise Summers
Warren Fox
Craig Dean
Stephanie Dean
Calvin Valentine

Kris Fisher
Hannah Ashworth
Max Cunningham
Mercedes McQueen
Rhys Ashworth
Tina McQueen
John-Paul McQueen
Amy Barnes
OB
Josh Ashworth
Sasha Valentine
Dom Reilly
Nancy Hayton
Gilly Roach
Sonny Valentine
Justin Burton
Michaela McQueen
Tony Hutchinson
Jacqui McQueen
Jake Dean
Sarah Barnes
Zak Ramsey
Clare Cunningham
Jessica Harris

No appearance:

Jack Osbourne
Tom Cunningham
Frankie Osbourne
Suzanne Ashworth
Neville Ashworth
Jamie 'Fletch' Fletcher
Kathy Barnes
Mike Barnes
Grandpa Bill Ashworth
Myra McQueen
Leo Valentine
Zoe Carpenter
Will Hackett
Charlie Dean
Elliot Bevan
Baby Barnes

Although I think Will and Zoe are in there somewhere and Justins breakdancing in there somewhere. LAUGHING at Baby Barnes' lack of appearance in the credits as being a bad thing. Hwoever Tom not running around doing aeroplane arms and skidding on his knees like every kid does at the school disco, is a travesty. I'd love to see him do some little kid dancing next to The Army of Vag or something. And Grandpa Ashworth doing some posey look to camera. Too much time wasted on Valentines though. And Claire stroking the floor in circular motions annoys me as well. ANoyone else notice Slabface, Carmel and Skoda/Fiesta/etc wearing the same dress? Money obviously ran out before they got to wardrobe

Well, exactly. Wasn't the old executive producer shown the door for spending too much time focusing on the parents?
