So the X Factor is back again this Saturday. Not sure if I'll watch or not - I probably will. I think I must be the only person who doesn't like watching the bad auditions.

I will watch the first part for the jokes, then I will stop tuning in when it gets all serious and rubbish. I am quite excited about the prospect of Dannii being a megabitch. If she is a simpering nanna like Sharon, I'll weep.

Good Lord, does it really start on Saturday??

Erm, of course I'll watch it. I'm intrigued as to how Dermot will do, and how many tragic life stories they can fit into an hour.

I also hope they bring back the more offbeat (relatively) style of Pop Idol and Ant and Dec, rather than Kate bland Thornton.

I'll give Cotton a miss though

I bagsy Jonathan from last series if he turns up for another go.

I'm rather excited about this starting... in principle, it's so wrong, but it always makes for great viewing.

And hey, there's always the option of my patented X Factor Drinking Game, which will help numb the pain of Cotton...

I'm watching it for Dannii Monoxide - it interferes with work so I'll just have to tape it which I would be doing anyway I think. Sharon is possibly going to look very frumpy next to botox frog Dannii.

Dead parent alert:
From MSN:
X Factor singer wants to 'do dad proud'

X Factor auditionee Nicky Evans has revealed she wants to make her late father proud - after she discovered an application form in his belongings after he died.

The mother-of-two, who lost her father last September, tells the show: "He got the application form for me without me knowing. I discovered it in his belongings, in with his pensions and things when he died. I need to do my dad proud."

After winning over the judges with her audition, Louis tells her: "You are the best singer I have heard today, you are a natural."

Simon adds: "Your dad would have been very proud of you just then and he made the right decision."

He adds: "Thank God she found the application form."

Other hopefuls include a brother and sister group, an Iraq war hero and a 79-year-old who mimics the sound of instruments through her nose.

Those who were humiliated included a 55-year-old cleaner who left the judges in hysterics, a 17-year-old who shouted that the judges had made "a fool of me" after they did not let her through and a group Simon dismissed as probably the "worst I have ever seen in my life".

I can't believe it's come around again this quickly.

I also can't believe those frigging trailers which just barely stop short of deifying Louis Walsh, of all people.

I like your drinking game, Al. Can I suggest another rule, whereby you drink everything in sight if there's anyone in the live finals with an iota of talent? Or indeed, that you just drink everything in sight as a matter of course, to get you through the show?

Did she not think that maybe
her poor dead dad might have been taking out the application form for himself? And why was she rifling through his pensions and boring documents like that in the first place? Did she think she was in a Miss Marple short story and about to discover the first of 6 riddles that would lead her to hidden treasure?
Is this starting earlier this year, or is Big Brother finishing later,as Xfactor usually starts the day after the BB final

I've actually been enjoying DanceX so far, but all these Strictly-Come-Celebrity-Soapstar-Factor-Dancing shows are identical, and I'd rather have an extra dose of Dermot than watch Ben Shepard's horrible neck for another week.

So I'll watch TXF instead.

I wonder if this year's winner will do more than one successful single before vanishing?

Hmm. "More than one single" confirmed, "successful" remains to be seen.

And "long awaited" is a load of crap. I couldn't even remember who won last year's show, until I saw that.

Dannii was on Anthony Cotton today, SO excited about the new series and SO excited that there was a woman with a dead parent who'd never sung before in public, blahblahblah.

As for Leona - Bleeding Love? Bleedin' Love would be better, especially if she was a proper Sarf London rude girl. I can imagine the lyrics already.

(Bleeding love) My love just bleeds for you
(Bleeding love) I'll do what you tell me to
(Bleeding love) Your words are like a knife
(Bleeding love) They cut into my life

Sometimes I wish you'd stop
Coz my blood, it just won't clot

the return of TBF and the bitching on here are the ONLY things I'm looking forward to. I wouldn't watch it this year but for the fear of missing out.

I'd watch an advert for surgical support hose if Dannii Minogue were presenting. She's said that 'I'm not interested in being the nice one. I've been doing this for years and I know what I'm looking for'. She also said she normally agrees with Simon - if there are two of them telling shit people they're shit, that will balance Louis and Sharon going 'he's an entertainer' or 'someone they once knew stubbed their toe last month!'
