My God, I hate Josiah so much. If his first audition weren't enough, that diva-wanky performance at the end pushed me right over the edge. Haaaaaate. I bet he wins now.

Did Alisha Dixon get through? I lost track of who went through and who didnt.

Josiah is so annoying. He's like a really crappy Dick Van Dyke with a huge ego.

I miss the group performances and Sugar Pie Honey Bunch.

Is Josiah the car-boy? I did feel sorry for him in the first rounds, but then I do get sucked in by sad adolescent boys.

Did the two enormous women who virtually crushed Seacrest to death get through? I really liked them, but only saw the second half of last nights, and couldn't spot them anywhere.

I don't understand this programme. They show people who have sob stories, you know, like DADS WHO ARE DEAD and then they don't put them through!!! What is going on?

Oh, and I share in the HAAAATE for Josiah and his massive sense of entitlement.

Why on earth did they put Dustin Diamond through? His voice wasn't that bad on You Raise Me Up, but his only purpose is for the judges to slaughter him in week 5 when he's still there and some black diva gets the axe, and then remind the public that IT IS A SINGING COMPETITION, NOT A DORK IDOL COMPETITION.

And seeing as there's quite a bit of interest here, sweepstake, anyone?

Well, we should wait until top 12 before we do it. Top 24 is always full of such obvious cannon fodder it doesn't seem fair to make anyone take them.

Proud Mary got through! Was his name Manuel Noriega? And the one with the eyebrows, and the hot Australian, and the Irish girl and the rock chick nurse, who if she does that hand thing to the camera one more time I'll reach through my tv and snap her little finger off. And the plus size model, and Rory's twink, and did one of the Dead Dad girls get through, Asia'X or whatever random letter comes after the apostrophe?

I'm so relieved Dustin Diamond was kicked out, despite Simon's protests. Simon needs to increase his nictoine patch dose, as he's getting really tetchy this year, more

And is it me or is Ryan being a bit more "soft" this year? I loved his inviting Hayden Christiensen around for tea and cake.

Yes, let's do a sweepstake when it gets down to 12 - there'll probably be enough of us interested to fill it out then. I don't mind how we do it - random or on grounds of shaggability, although where that will leave some of the plainer girls, who knows.

The bit at the beginning with Ryan Seacrest and Hayden Christiansen was hilarious. "Why don't you come back to my place? I've got some videos of me hosting the Emmys." Hee.

I was pretty happy with the results - I was sad that Cardin McKinney didn't get through, but happy that Joanne Borgella did, so that was sort of a win-win to me. Colton Berry looks like Lucas Grabeel, which is bound to end up as an endless source of amusement for me as I wait for him to say "everybody loves a good jazz square". I am beyond excited that Josiah fucking Leming got cut (although apparently he's some kind of cause celebre in the States right now - allegedly Ellen invited him on her show because she was so pissed that he got cut). Syesha Mercado and Brooke White are through, which is awesome. I'm still on the fence about Danny Noriega - he's sort of adorable and annoying in equal measures. And the Australian guy is hot in an unassuming way.

Still dislike: David Cook (he looks like an uglier Michael C Hall) and Rock Nurse. I think that's it. I must admit I watched the Top 24 video segment at the end and just kept saying "who are you? I've never seen you before!" to most of them.

Did Carly Hennessy (Irish girl) get through? I have her flop album from the early noughties and some of the things she did with the guy from the New Radicals was great. I read in Rolling stone that she is rumoured to be a plant given her previous recording history.

I want her in the sweepie please!

Yep, Carly got through. She's my favourite, up there with the fit Aussie and the curly-haired girl who's never seen a porno.

Did anyone else notice that a huge number of contestants had blue tongues during the Hollywood stages? Are they all given a biro to chew on nervously or something?

Well I feel I have to clarify that i bought it second hand.....

I think i might dig it out and see if I'm still as fond. In one song "Blow your mind" she did do a riff of Britney when she wailed "Hit me baby one more time" I recall liking that a lot.

Oooh! Found her video on youtube- never knew she looked like this before!

gutted farmboy didn't get through. And since my last post, I have discovered the purest hatred for Josiah, so I'm almost sad he's not there to focus my rage upon.

I'm rooting for Australian who looks like Phil from Ed, and Proud Mary. The girls can take a hike.

"Careful, or he'll double snap you back".

I love Ryan. But I love Proud Mary more. It's like Justin Suarez had a child with Kelly Clarkson.

Proud Mary for the win!

Oh noes! I looked at the American Idol website and think I saw who got chucked out. I think they were ones who weren't wholly offensive, worse luck.

More importantly, however, dreadlock boy would be a right old fitty if he got rid of that horrendous hairdo.

I watched for the 1st time to see the final 24.

Danny Noriega or Proud Mary was simply the greatest gay I have ever seen on the TV- he is just hilarious and very genuine- Was jailhouse Rock not the perfect song for him? Its the most obvious celebration of same sex loving of the 20th century!!

Why was the son of cruise ship dad that sand Moon River wearing the wig that Millhouse from the Simpsons wore when they went to the world trade fair at knoxville???!

Oh my goodness David Archuleta!!! That kid was just WOW!! Flipping heck he sang the wheels off that song I had never heard of- I really want to hear him sing again. I would be shocked if he didnt win. I want him in the sweep (Carly can piss off now- her performance was bland).

As for the chick- only Alexandra Lushington the girl who did "Spinning Wheel" was truley attention grabbing. Was shocked Simon panned her.

I am completely hooked again!
