I used to kind of think Greer was an arse for some reason that I've forgotten now, but now I kind of like her. That's the thing with shows like this - you are given enough rope to hang yourself and a lot of people do (I never knew John McRirrick was such a fool, I just thought he was probably the lovable eccentric type), but then you can also show yourself up to be a decent sort after all.

I want her to win too. I wondered what she meant by that remarks about bigger battles to fight. I think she meant that everyone can see what a fool John is, so there's no point in starting a fight with him to highlight it. When he got up and walked to the other side of the garden last night, I admired Germaine for not yelling you ignorant fuck. Go GG.

Germaine Greer is the Janet Street-Porter it's okay to like.
She may well have surpassed Sarah Beeny on the homegirl status front.
However, given that she got into all that trouble last year for publishing a book full of photos of naked jailbait boys, what are the odds on her making a Mrs Robinson play for Kenzie then?

What sort of trouble did she get into?
I love that she saw a quite respectful art theory and criticism and managed to turn it into a way to ogle and perve over young men. She's an example to us all.

What sort of trouble did she get into? The usual "Yooooou are a paedoooo-phile!" Daily Mail shite, that's all. For the record, her preferences are far too young for me. *Thinks of Jeremy in the hot tub* *Feels peculiar and in need of a lie down*

Is there any chance that Germaine will win?
I'd love that more than anything, but I don't trust the public at all when it comes to things like this. I'm still smarting from Jason coming second in BB5.
I'm assuming the teenie vote will be out in force for Kenzie to win. Does anyone want to join me in mustering enough old fogey (i.e. us lot) support for a Greer victory?

I'd love that more than anything, but I don't trust the public at all when it comes to things like this. I'm still smarting from Jason coming second in BB5. This still baffles me. Before I went on holiday he was the nations number 1 enemy. When I came back he'd come second. People have tried to explain it to me, but I'm sorry, 'oh, he kind of turned alright' is not good enough. My mum has a theory that they tried to get older contestants this year in order to attract a new, older audience. If she's right and they're successful then Germaine stands a good chance. However I think she's wrong, so Jeremy Edwards will probably win.

I have a good feeling for Germaine's success in this. Even the teenies like Kenzie who said stuff like, "So who is she and what does she do?" must be won round by her liberal swearing and the fact that she gives off a fantastic don't-fuck-with-me vibe.
However, I also suspect that the girlies may just vote for Jezza cos he is very pretty.

Germaine just rules doesn't she. She has an astonishing ability to be able to cut thru' bull and hea straight to the centre. Her summations on peoples characteristics was brilliant. She is a dazzling beacon, and even makes being old not matter. John Mc... is loathsome, what a vile, petulant wanker. Kenzie...yo yo, wanker. Caprice is coming across well. Bez seems to talk like one with perhaps some mental health issues. Lisa Ianson is pathetic, and must have really hated being put at number 5 in the attractive list. Jeremy is gorgeous, and funny and fairly perceptive too. Germaine to win, Jeremy 2nd. Brigitte is very blah.

Lisa skirts so close to being OK but ultimately just comes across as a prick. As I sadly often do I found myself in front of the live feed last night, and they were having quite an interesting conversation (well by BB standards!) about Queen Elizabeth I, which then progressed to the subject of female circumcision in Africa - but as soon as that came up Ianson stopped the conversation dead - 'Don't talk about that, I can't go down that road now'.
I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT! Yeah so feelings may run high for you on a particular subject, but if so shuddupayaface and don't participate. Telling everyone to stop talking is absolute shite.

I stopped listening to Radio 1 when they employed talentless f*ckwits like I'Anson, Ball and Dave Pearce, so why would I want to watch her on telly for 14 days?

I am finding it increasingly difficult to watch the show. This is because the tv folk, in their wisdom, keep showing John, then Jackie, back to John picking his nose, back to Jackie doing that weird sniff thing and so on. It is horrid to say this, but they are both so ugly they are making me feel sick. I think perhaps the BB peeps in charge realised they have made a mistake, as originally I believe Jackie was ineligble for nominations. And now...hey presto. And who the fuck is actually going to phone in and vote either of them to stay?
