What an odd episode.
Rose was just brilliant, if not a little Its A Wonderful Life. Was she English? I like the fact that the writers thought that she had to mention the war (being an oldie), which'll be why we got that bizarre line about having cake with a young man being just like the war. A side of conflict so rarely portrayed in all the films and documentaries.
And Oscar! I love him! I'm genuinely worried for him right now. Elle is still shit, but I quite like the 'spoilt little rich girl' angle that's being pushed.

I did think Oscar's acting was extraordinary, especially when compared to Connors. I also loved the way they couldn't have that fat, deformed child nearer to anything deeper than a puddle so they kept on going between shots
1) Oscar near a puddle
2) A deep, dangerous lake with a ball in it
3) Oscar's podgy face
It was drama supreme.

Nappies! That made me laugh.
It's gone a bit mental recently what with Izzy waxing lyrical about Paul for about the first time in her life just as Evil Twin records it all on his handy dictaphone (nearly wrote "camcorder", ha).
I've just gotten back from 4 days away and had like an hour and a half of Neighbours to watch. Bliss. Even if my other half did programme in all other programmes in the 12 hours clock instead of the 24 hour, which means I've got CBBC instead of Time Trumpet... boo!

Neighbours... it's so marvellously cheap and ridiculous. Like Lou's Russian bride needing hypnotherapy, so they all spent ages convincing her, cut to Karl hpynotising her in her front room. so the guy's a GP, a dynamite lover, a surgeon, a paramedic AND a fully qualified hypnotherapist?
The ball/pool/child intercutting was amazing. It was such a pissy little puddle and Ned ran up to the kid like he was heading headfirst into an industrial childmincer - he didn't even want to risk his life leaning into the 2cm deep water to pick up the ball!
And then when Lynne got the kid back - after practically shitting out her tiny mind through her jabbering mouth in worry - five minutes later the hopeless witch had left the kid in order to go round Paul Robinson's house. WTF?!!
Thank fuck for video recorders and a total lack of cultural shame in getting my Neighbours fix. It feels good to be back!

I like to put any unbelievable plot occurences in Neighbours down to the fact that Australia does things differently. Two questions: - Sky has a job now?!

Sky and Elle work in a call centre now, selling tupperware or something. I got ridiculously excited by the fact that there was a new set, it was so unexpected. Usually that place where they practised for the musical or the school's one single classroom just doubles for everything!
I'll have to pass on your second question, I can't actually remember now!

Yes she has. I always find it quite transfixing.
I thought it hilarious that Ned was too afraid of the puddle to fetch the ball back for Oscar.
Is Mishka a goodie then, or do we think she will rip Lou off a la Trixie? I like Lou Bear as a name for him.
When is Toadie back for fucks sake, I miss him. Ned and Connor are such weak versions of "House of trouser" lads. I still miss the Billy/Toad interactions, (and Toadie/Joel Toadie/Stuart ) but the Toad is great with most people. Ned is very rubbish though, and Connor seems particulaly unattractive these days.

Subtitles on Neighbours today. That was just brilliant. I actually like Mishka and her comedy moments. "Lou Bear" is funny and I think she called Karl "Doctor Dirty" the other day too, which is fantastic. She should have a pet name for everyone she meets.

I have heard that Janet Andrewartha is currently in Edinburgh directing/producing a play. I URGENTLY need to find out what it is so that I can drop all semblance of a work/love/social life to track her down and complement her on her divine acting skills.
Sadly, a look around the 'net has yielded nothing and I fear myself and my friends will cry unless we can find her! Does anyone have any information on this?
