Has Glyn accomplished anything on this mythical "journey" that he couldn't just have achieved by going to university like a normal person?

'i'd make it illegal to buy holiday homes in welsh speaking towns'
Now forgive me for extreme ignorance but isn't that a little... off?
And as for the idea he wants to teach non-welsh speakers welsh... give it up lad. I can understand people wanting to preserve their languages but the world doesn't work that way, languages rise up and die out and I don't think anyone could argue convincingly that Welsh is on the up.
EDIT: Right I've just seen people on digitalspy saying that the thing about holiday homes is that it drives up local prices so local types can't afford houses there, and leaves the community dead in the off-season. Ah well. But as for the 'welsh-speaking towns' bit, why not all of Wales? All of everywhere!

Glyn represents everything I hate about Welsh nationalists/supremecists.
He really thinks English and the English are second class and will get quite a shock as he gets to sample the real world.

How did this incident The Almighty Dent refers to pass me by?
"I'd root out the footage of Glyn from day 73 involving the used condom that he left in the diary room for an Endemol runner to dispose of. "
What a vile snorting little Gollum the creature is.

Glyn represents everything I hate about Welsh nationalists/supremecists. Yes, one thousand times yes. When I first arrived in Wales I was shocked at the fact that so many (by no means everyone) have such over inflated pompous pride in their country, with a snobbery towards anything foreign. It's just a matter of where you come from for christ's sake, get oer it.

Its so true - its one of the reasons I moved away (grew up near Cardiff), and Glyn reminds me soooo much of of the smug boyfriend of a girl I used to work with who would inisist on leaving her phone messages with me in Welsh, despite the fact I couldn't speak it - he would just say slowly and clearly (I understood that much!) that I was in Wales and should speak Welsh, and carry on. None of thee quite urgent messages ever got through, which completely defeated his point, but it really used to annoy me.
That said, it's certainly not everyone, but Glyn just encapsulates a certain sort of Welsh bad attitude.

What's there to feel proud of when it's just a random matter of popping out in X Y or Z country?

I think it's very important to be proud of where you are from, and where you live. Otherwise, why bother being there? There are ways and means of performing this pride, however, where you aren't obnoxious, over-bearing or monolistic and can be more celebratory, and inclusive.

So, the Sun today is all "Glyn with a chance! Welsh wonder to sneak the title from Pete, thanks to the Sun!"
Is it overly cynical of me to find the sudden surge for Glyn to be a bit - well, suspicious? Like one day the Sun does a special Welsh headline and that's all it takes for Wales to rise up as one and vote for Glyn? What was everyone doing before that? Had it taken them that long to realise he's Welsh? Were they all too busy shipping Pikki to vote? It just all seems a bit odd to me.

The Sun does this type of thing best. They work out what/who's doing well, they back them, and then say it was them who caused everyone one to like whatever it is in the first place.
If the the gawky streak of nothing wins, tomorrow's edition will be so self congratulatory.
VOTE AISLEYNE.
EDIT: Victoria Newton often does a similar thing on a minor scale, with her campaigns. Expect a campaign for Big Brother 8, and for a Christmas this year to start any day now.

Let's discuss 'Our Glyn' - I have read the Sun today too. I complained bitterly about it yesterday for the same reason as today. They are intent on branding this a 2 horse race, describing Aisleyne as an 'also ran'!! They have shaved a point off both Glyn's and Aisleyne's bookie price - in directions to suit their biassed reporting. - Fair's fair though and he is definitely not retarded in any way.
The way he speaks is only because, up until he entered the House, he has only spoken English on rare occasions. He is thinking in Welsh and then translating into English before he speaks which makes him seem 'slow' when, in fact, just by that action, he is proving himself to be incredibly intelligent. His accent is very gutteral which is the norm in the area of Wales he comes from.
I am from South Wales where we still have the 'welcome in the hillsides', tolerance of all and sundry, patriotic pride in our Rugby teams and an absolute loathing (well, in my case anyway) of those small pockets of Wales where Plaid Cymru fanaticism runs rife! The snobbery referred to in opinions above is abundant but is not as bad as years ago. Once, when on holiday in North Wales, my family were referred to as 'foreigners from down below'. This stems from absolute jealous fury because we got the capital city - Cardiff - and they got that Police Chief the papers rave about. Please - don't laugh - stupid it may be, but it seems to be true!!
When I was at school (in the Dark Ages) anyone who wore an Urdd (Welsh speakers society) badge was immediately selected by the Welsh teaching brethren for greatness! I once 'temped' at BBC Cymru (also yonks ago) and the Welsh-speaking girls in the office wouldn't answer me when I asked, in English, where the Ladies' was! Welsh terrorists starting burning holiday homes many years ago but, headlines this week have informed us that, they are still at it torching more - only last weekend.
This culture, to which Glyn belongs, is not indicative of all Welsh people and I sincerely hope viewers of BB know that. Originally, I was thrilled with the idea of keeping the Welsh language alive - because that I believe in strongly. It has been proved to be the oldest language in the World - but the spouting about Prince Charles, holiday homes etc is not doing the Welsh cause any good at all. We are not all of the belief that Owain Glyndwr is alive and well (along with a couple of dragons) in a cave somewhere awaiting the day we will rise up, mount our Welsh Cobs, put our longbows on our back and attack Highgrove House!
Or - maybe I am wrong and this is what Glyn wants the £100,000 for!! Just vote, vote, vote for Aisleyne and you'll be able to sleep safely in your beds!!

To be honest, and I know this sounds terrible, but he has kind of made me want to tar all Welsh people with that brush. And I'm kind of guessing that many of the umm.. less bright BB viewers will be even more of that opinion.
I feel bad now.
