Dannii's a very good popstar whereas Kylie is a bona fide icon. This is probably why Dannii seems more interesting -- she can get away with more because she's not on the same level as Kylie who has this empire based on her image.
Kylie's a lot more interesting than lots of you are making out. She's truly culturally important and has been since, don't know, probably during deConstruction days. It's just a shame now that she's so massive. While the success is great, there's something missing from her live shows now that it's not all twentysomething women and the gays.
It's hardly a new idea because I bang on about this everytime people start saying Kylie overrated but... Everyone of a certain age remembers Charlene marrying Scott (most likely wanting to be Charlene marrying Scott), right? We all remember her perm and her puff-ball wedding dress and how hideous she looked compared to how immaculate she is now. She had to have this period of growing up (coming out?) which is sort of how I relate to her.
There's an article in this month's Attitude which goes along the lines of the writer listing significant events when he was listening to Madonna songs. Now, I've never rated Madonna that hugely and for me, those significant events growing up with me and my friends were all Kylie related: putting on a Kylie concert in our garage for our parents when we were in primary school; our A level drama prac 'Impossible Princess: A Tribute To Miss Kylie Minogue' which was a reworking of MacBeth told through pop music; missing my best friend when I first started uni and texting her drunk from Poptastic! with Why'd you leave to find yourself? I can't dance with no one else; midnight, new years eve 2000, watching this boy I was so in love with getting off with someone else while On A Night Like This was playing; the fact that my boyfriend's the biggest Kylie fan and for that reason, I'll always relate how I feel about him to how I feel about Kylie; getting too drunk during kylie:fever to pass the exam I had the next day.
OK, I'll stop now, but you get my point? Kylie in so tightly wound into who I am -- and not in the sense that I listen to her music daily or anything, just an important part of growing up -- that I cannot see how she can be so easily dismissed compared to the, albeit fantastic in her own right, Dannii.

A while ago I decided never to compare the two as they are both fabulous in their own right, and if I was to be honest, I love them both equallly. Okay so I grew up with Kylie's music and she does fab tours, but I remember seeing Dannii on her Unleashed tour back in 1997 and was blown away. She might not have the big stage show that Kylie did, but she really worked the crowd. Kylie has imprved her vocalls amazingly since the start of her career, but I always thought Dannii had a slightly better voice.
There are so many Kylie fans out there who hate Dannii - especially on Say Hey but the majority of Dannii fans like Kylie too. I have no idea why there can be such venom for her, as in a way that's also a slur against Kylie.
Anyway both are sisters and both are very close to each other, despite the rumours, so I declare it a draw, at least on my part.

Kylie everyday of the week!
In Your Eyes On a Night Like This Spinning Around Confide in Me Cant Get you Out Of Me Head
the list goes on!
Danni has always been in kylies shadow, but then again being Kylies sister opened many doors for her that might not of been opened if she wasn't. Her career is owed to a degree for being kylies little sister, people gave her a shot because of it.
