I just got this today (would have got it sooner but I had to wait for my birthday cos I knew someone was getting it for me).
On the first listen, I'll say that i LOVE 'Close To Love', and that 'Damn; sounds like McFly. More detailed comments to follow once I've given it a proper listen.

Hairy hat man was part of letterland, which was going when I was at school in 1984, so it's hardly for the youngsters.

Is this in a similar vein to Kicking King?

Fucking shitpants man, Letterland! I was not taught this way, but the woman I work for has children who are 5 and 3 and say things like "I'm drawing a golden girl", only to present me with a letter g. Everything is falling into place.
They are at a super-posh private school in Yorkshire where they have to wear uniforms from the age of 2 and have spelling tests every Friday once they hit 4. No doubt they'll start streamlining them for Oxbridge soon.

I've just had the joy of listening to snippets from two of the songs they've done for St Trinians - they are perfect, and could easily fit in with Tanged Up.
They're both curiously Nadine-lite.

So if Control of the Knife isn't the next single, what will be?
Close to Love would be AMAZING, if only for the fact that homos all over the country will be chanting "we're gonna need more wood!" (on dancefloors)

I heard Can't Speak French was but then every single track has been rumoured to be the next single at some point.

(on dancefloors) Isn't it Can't Speak French? I'm sure that's what I heard. I'd have picked Girl Overboard or Control Of The Knife. Anything but Fling, really....the love for the song totally baffles me.

I quite like Fling.
I think Blackjacks is bizarrely my favourite at the moment.

Can't Speak French is definitely the next single.
If Close To Love was ever released (which it must or all hell in G.A.Y. will break loose), it deserves a monumental video consisting of the Girls tangled up in trees, surrounded by half naked lumberjacks cutting wood and a log cabin on fire.
Does anyone think it sounds a bit like Sabrina (albeit even more hi-nrg)?

So do I. Mainly for the part where it goes all quiet after the choruses, and Nadine's voice comes bellowing from the quietness with "WHO'S THAT HOTTIE OVER THERE?"

Btw- What does the track Blackjacks mean!? That was discussed earlier in the thread. Blackjacks are seemingly bruises and it's a song about domestic violence. On a slightly different note, has anyone seen the advert for the Panorama show dealing with online kiddy fiddling? I'm worried that Call The Shots will be associated with a grubby looking man who looks too similar to David Dimbleby for my liking.

I can't wait for that Panorama show Paul - I hope they do an entrapment angle.
Which is the perfect opportunity for me to reccomend everyone Youtube's 'Dateline NBCTo Catch A Predator' - dodgy puns, shit acting from the decoys and amazing police interventions...there's even a suicide at one point.

Yay
That slightly makes up for 'best pop' last year being Katie Melua when GA and McFly didn't even get mentioned.

I'm much happier that they're nominated this year - up until the brilliant Tangled Up album I was pretty close to writing them off for good.
For some reason Best International Female is always the strongest category, with this year being no exception (well, Rihanna made a really good album, so she can stay..)
