According to the Oxford English Dictionary, Intersoapiality is "the appearance an actor or actress in more than one serial drama (more commonly known as a 'soap opera' or 'soap').
So let's list some, because there is a lot of it about at the moment.
Sasha in EastEnders used to be Siobahn in Family Affairs Danny Baldwin's son (can't remember his name) in Coronation Street used to be in Family Affairs. Nigel's wife in EastEnders died, but was reincarnated as Kat in Family Affairs. That blonde Australian one in Emerdale used ot be in Home and Away (and maybe Family Affairs) Daniel McPherson who played Joel in Neighbours is now in The Bill Mark Fowler told Pauline he was dying of AIDS in EastEnders, but really he moved to Sun Hill and became a P-Oliceman in The Bill Unstable (on and off screen) Lucy Benjamin played Lisa in EastEnders and a P-Olicelady in The Bill Geri (the blonde one..............) form Hollyoaks also became a P-Olicelady in Mersey Beat Berny Nolan played a Nolan sister in The Nolans and played someone in Brookside and now has become, yes you guessed it, a P-Olicelady in The Bill Fit Stefan Booth who played (almost a bummer) Jamie is Hollyoaks is now a proper bummer in The Bill Christian who just crappily left Hollyoaks was previosly in Crossroads Version 2.00 A fat scouse from Brookside played a receptionist in The Bill.
So to conclude intersoapiality is rife in Family Affairs and The Bill. Actors are easily lured away from FA to better sopas, cos it's shit and no-one watches it. The Bill is sort of a rehab for soap stars of yesterday, who want to get out of soaps, but aren't quite ready yet, so they like this quasi-soap.
Feel free to add to my list.

Holby! Holby! Holby!
Nicola Stephenson went from being a semi-lesbian, part-time priest seductress nanny in Brookside to being a nurse.
Angela Griffin went from being a serial-McDonald-lovin' hairdresser in Coronation Street to being another nurse.
Tina Hobley went from being a psychopathic biker barmaid in Coronation Street to being a bitch of a nurse.
Michael French went from being a Bianca-and-Joe-siring Cindy-fucker in EastEnders to being a surgeon.
Lisa Faulkner went from being a crazy eco-warrior princess (she had facial piercings and everything!) in Brookside to being a lady doctor, or some such crazy modern thing.
Patricia Potter went from being a really, really, really loathesome token-middle-class whiner in Brookside to being another lady doctor.
And many, many, many others, whose names I've forgotten. Of course, it's always more fun when it's the proper soaps rather than the semi-soaps.

One of the Musgrove sons in Brookside moved to Hollyoaks but played the same character. Yes, that was wonderful. Even more wonderful was Jane Rossington (Jill Harvey in Crossroads / Crossroads Version 2.0) appearing at Jacqui and Nathan's wedding in Brookside as 'Cousin Jill', some relative of Nathan's aristocratic family, who sat around making comments like 'This is almost as bad as the time the motel burned down!', etc etc. Joy.

Not a patch on when the Kenneth Cope character was getting married and they put him in a white suit and had him speaking to a woman called Jeannie on the telephone.

One of the Dean Kids from Hollyoaks got his arse out in Night & Day whilst shagging his elderly teacher, whose husband was gay and being blackmailed by somebody else gay in a storyline somehow involving donuts.
Shane Ritchie of EastEnders was in Night & Day at the same time, playing an evil uncle who wore a Matrix coat and did bad things.
Night & Day was mighty.

I could play this game all day. And, since I don't have any work to do, I will.
Jane Harper in Night and Day became Helen Raven's bitch daughter in (new-)Crossroads.
Helen Raven in Crossroads became Chastity Dingle in Emmerdale.
Old Mr King (I dunno what any of the Kings are called apart from Patsy, sorry) in Emmerdale was Mrs Hart's middle-class-dad-who-turned-bad in pre-boat-explosion-Family Affairs.
Maria The Baby-Snatcher in Family Affairs used to be Sue Sullivan-who-was-pushed-off-scaffolding-with-her-kid-by-Barry-Grant-which-was-when-I-started-watching-it-so-thanks-Maria/Sue! in Brookside.
Edna Birch in Emmerdale was Mel's mother (yes, really) in EastEnders. She was also Victoria Wood's and Julie Walters' aging ex-prostitute mother in Pat & Margaret, but that's nothing to do with intersoapiality; it's just something that makes me very happy.
One of Mike Baldwin's annoying sons in Coronation Street (the one who shagged Linda when he was married to her) was someone else's annoying son in Emmerdale.
In fact, Linda Sykes / Baldwin was also Tina (I think) Dingle in Emmerdale. Ooh!
'Lovely' tightly-wound Patricia Farnham in Brookside was Natalie Horrocks' sister Debs in Coronation Street, where she went out with Vinny aka Grayling-from-Bad Girls, but Bad Girls doesn't count because it's not a soap, of course, you tosser.

Hollyoaks has just gianed two new intersoapials from Naight and Day. Firstly, the super fit one with the big jaw has just popped up as Russ, in the new 'Oaks family. Then there is a new fireman who starts next week who is also form N&D (apparently). He looks like one of the Nolan's sons from Brookside. The older brother.

Gabrielle Glaister was also on Doctors the other week. Does that count? I may as well mention Seb Castang, who was Josh on Night And Day and Jake on Family Affairs.

Doctors!
Mandy Jordache was in Doctors last time I saw it, only she was blonde and happy and not being beaten up by her husband, or, as far as I could tell, anyone else's.
And that bloke who played Conor in EastEnders was married to the scatty woman doctor who was in The (not-a-soap) Office.

I don't ask Hollyoaks to be good but I loathe these new characters.

Before moving to Liverpool and becoming Jackie Corkhill in Brookside, Sue Jenkins was Gloria the barmaid in Corrie. And, sort-of related (punnage!), her real-life son plays Our Craig in Corrie.

Old Mr King (I dunno what any of the Kings are called apart from Patsy, sorry) in Emmerdale was Mrs Hart's middle-class-dad-who-turned-bad in pre-boat-explosion- Family Affairs. As well as playing Annie Walkers son in Corrie. Edna Birch was also in Corrie if I remember correctly (as well as playing the original Rose in Keeping Up Appearances) Ma Dingle the first was Hilda Ogdens daughter and Ken Barlows Sister-in-Law in Corrie (as well as being Paul and Pauline Calfs Ma.) Pearl from Emmerdale was Eunice Gee, wife of Fred (not Elliot) and later owner of the B&B Jack and Vera moved into after Alec cheated them out of the Rovers. Hasn't Julie Peasgood been in about a hundred different soaps? And Kazia whatsherface has done the rounds too, starting out in Brookside and now currently playing reformed mad mum Chrissy, but not before doing Heartbeat for a few years and then playing Mrs Robinson to Viks Benjamin Braddock in Corrie and splitting him up from that one who never got a storyline until she became an Air Hostess in Mile High. Max Farnham did original Crossroads as did Audrey Roberts. The woman who played the original wife of Nicholas Lyndhurst in Goodnight Sweetheart was barmaid Tina in Corrie and someones wife in Emmerdale. Bradley Walsh and Shane Richie were brothers in Night and Day. Emma Samms was picked up by a UFO in The Colbys, found pregnant in Dynasty and went mad at Holby. Kate (Night and Day) Elllis and Belinda Slater were sisters in Family Affairs. Margi Clarke did Corrie and Family Affairs. Hannah from Neighbours popped up in Corrie. And her daddy Phil was one of those Sons And Daughters.

Pearl from Emmerdale was Eunice Gee, wife of Fred (not Elliot) and later owner of the B&B Jack and Vera moved into after Alec cheated them out of the Rovers. And she was Bernie Nolan's rosary-bead-wringing mother in Brookside! And another Friend Of Victoria Wood. What a rich and fulfilling life she has had. Julie Peasgood has definitely been in Brookside and Emmerdale and Family Affairs, at least, playing Fran-the-best-friend-of-Sue-Sullivan-who-was-pushed-off-the-scaffolding-when-they-built-the-Brookside-Parade, biker-woman-who-did-stuff-with-Alan-Turner, and typical-bland- Family-Affairs-character, respectively. I think she's also been in Hollyoaks, but I haven't give a fuck about Hollyoaks so far, and I'm not going to start now. Was Hannah Martin really in Coronation Street? That's fantastic. Who / where / what / when / why / how?

Julie Sodding (her middle name is in our house) Peasgood played a thin model-looking blonde girl's Mum (I know that's narrowing it down) in Hollyoaks. It was around the same time she was in Emmerdale, if I remember rightly.
I do sort of remember Hannah Martin's appearance in Corrie. It was during one of its late '90s dips and she was a student backpacker or something.
Ma Dingle's never Irma Barlow, is she? Jesus, gravity must have hit that poor woman round the face with a baseball bat.
And Jill Halfpenny of butchered haircut fame started out by blinding Ant McPartlin with a paintgun in Byker Grove before moving on to break up the Platts' marriage in Corrie. Serial homewrecker, that one.
No one's mentioned the fact Lucy Benjamin was in Press Gang.

Anyone mentioned that it was EastEnders' Kate (something Halfpenny, or something...) that broke up Gail and Motton's marriage in Corrie?

How could we forget?
Andy the only slightly better gangster than Sam Mitchell and Minty is basically pulling the same faces/punches as he did when he was Eddie Santini the edgy policeman who went off the rails and got put in prison in The Bill.
And! Also! The woman who sent him off the rails and put in prison was Dawn from Preston Front, then reappeared this year as one of the detectives in Mimsy Patrol AKA Murder in Suburbia with Jeremy Sheffield of snogging-a-man-in-Holby-City-fame.

It was around the same time she was in Emmerdale, if I remember rightly. She was Geri's mum. Geri played by Joanna Taylor who is now in Merseybeat, of course, as someone pointed out earlier. It's not quite a soap, but it's hardly a cutting-edge drama (it's got Josie "Phine" D'Arby in it, after all) so why not, eh? It's like six degrees of soaparation in this place. This isn't quite a soap leap, but I was amused (if that's the right word) to see that Harry of and Cosh fame is in Family Affairs now.

Danny Baldwin was also in Night and Day, as the boyfriend of the woman who decided to give up doctoring for prostitution. So was Joe McGann, as the bloke who may, or may not have killed the schoolgirl, having come from the slightly less surreal Emmerdale. Not quite so soapy, but annoying Chrissie in Family Affairs is also in the Heartbeat repeats on weekday afternoons, and Family Affairs' gay Sean was gay Rueben, nurse Adam's boyfriend in Casualty (they got married and everythin'). Incidently Adam then also turned up in The Bill, and got stalked by Cathy Madford. Ken and Gina in The Bill were both from Eastenders, as the market manager who had an affair with Lisa waay back, and Irene. This could go on forever.
