We just watched an amazing Christmas double-bill from my DVD collection.
Following Mrs Santa Claus, starring Angela Lansbury, we saw the classic 'you have to get a family loving each other again by Christmas Eve at MIDNIGHT' TV Movie that is Unlikely Angel. With Dolly Parton as said 'unlikely angel'.
Pure brilliance.

Jawbreaker Slap Her, She's French Sextette All I Want For Christmas Wise GirlsPlus I have yet to read a glowing review for 200 Cigarettes and I really think it is the most charming film I have seen in the last 7 years or so. It's a classic and to watch it for the first time over the festive period would be a hoot. Edit: and the music is great, too. I remembering seeing Slap her she's french. Hilariously bad

And yes, Cool Runnings... "Feel de rhythm, feel de ride, get on up, it's bobsled time!" We got to watch that IN SCHOOL. Like in high school. God, you've got to love the last week of term. I first watched it on a coach on the way to a school exchange trip to France. By a mile the best thing about that trip!

I remembering seeing Slap her she's french. Hilariously bad She's wearing a beret, she's French! I rented that film purely on its title ,and the bad photoshop that occurs on the box cover- check it! Thats never her real head, ffs. Somewhere in my parent's attic is a school diary that includes my most excellent critique of 'One of our Dinosaurs is Missing' I think I even drew a picture of a skeletal Brontosaurus.

Oh, I have to recommend Vanessa Williams and TLC-Chilli starring A Diva's Chrustmas Carol ("Christmas can be such a bitch"). If you haven't seen it I think most people on here would love it.

I quite liked the Scooby Doo movie starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. But maybe that's because I never liked the cartoon much.
The sequel inspired a very funny piss-taking headline on SFX once about La Gellar.
"There's more to me than Buffy" says the star of Scooby Doo 2.

I've not seen Scooby Doo 2, but the first one is brilliant - I remember embarrassing my friend by hooting all the way through it at the cinema. Especially the bit where Scooby is being interrogated by Atkinson, and strikes the same pose as is on the picture.
Well, you have to see it, really.
I have word that Mrs 'Arris has been DVDed for me. Very excited.

Treated myself to 'Mrs 'Arris' this afternoon and wasn't disappointed. It's just class. Had forgotten how good it was.

Okay. I have something to admit. I think this may be the only place i can.
I read the radio times christmas special.
White Christmas is not on. I looked and looked.
And then a little tear fell.

That's global warming for ya.
I'm afraid I have to disagree with any supporters of the Scooby Doo Movie (the first one, I haven't seen Scooby Two). It was all fine and dandy until the climax when they had scrappy doo being able to do all that supernatural stuff. This was rubbish! You can't have real magic and ghosts in Scooby Doo! It can only be smoke and mirrors. And as annoying as Scrappy Doo was, he could never go evil. I'm getting angry just thinking about it.

I don't have the Christmas Radio Times yet, so I can't confirm either way, but I'm sure I saw a trailer for White Christmas, Boxing Day afternoon, on Living TV. Don't hit me if I'm wrong.

As my Christmas present to Lowculture, I'd like to say that Mrs 'Arris Goes To Paris has arrived in a DVDed-off-the-telly form at Casa Bungle, and should any names and postal addresses arrive in my Inbox then I would find myself unable to do anything but enter into the sprit of the season and send a free copy to any (UK) forumites who so desire it. For your own viewing, of course, and just cos you missed it on the telly - no copyright gubbins implied, and on condition that you destroy it once watched Mission:Impossible stylee, etc.

I saw 9 months in the cinema! At the time it seemed alright but in retrospect it was a bit rubbish and Julianne Moore is far too good for Hugh Grant.
Slightly off tangent but still on the subject of crap films I had a bit of a hangover on Saturday so I spent my morning and early afternoon on my sofa watching crap films that schedulers had kindly put on over Christmas. I watched 'Ever After' followed by 'Sinbad'. For a cartoon man Sinbad is quite hot.
Was thrilled to see not only 'Crystal Maze's' own Richard O'Brian in 'Ever After' but also Duncan the blind servant from 'Robin Hood Prince of Thieves'. With eyes! Duncan can see - hurrah!

Jason X, a.k.a The Tenth Friday The 13th Film, with Jason slaughtering people in outer space. It is funny in an extremly silly way. It's been a few years since I've seen it, but one of the lines I liked were the last words of one of the girls before she got sucked into one of the engines. "This sucks on so many levels!".
I also have a soft spot for The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas. OK, it doesn't do the cartoon justice, but I liked it much better than the first Flintstones film. I thought overall it was a lot funnier. I liked Mark Addy (Thin Blue Line) and Kristen Johnston (Third Rock From The Sun) in it, and Jane Krakowski was certainly better than Rosie O'Donnel at playing Betty.
Viva Rock Vegas also has Joan Collins as Wilma's mother. That said, the first one has Elizabeth Taylor in that role.

The bit in Jason X where he beats up a girl in a sleeping bag with another girl in a sleeping bag is comedy gold.
