I haven't really looked through this thread, so forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but everytime a coversation like this comes up everyone I know mentions SpiceWorld. The thing is, I don't think it's a crap film at all... Am I wrong, or just a gay? I've mentioned in here I think. I love it too, but it always gets labelled as crap by Spice Girls snobs, who'd rather watch a film following Johnny Borrell on tour. I don't think it's particularly crappy, since it revels in its corniness and absurdities. It's just a lot of fun and a great nostlagia trip thesedays.

Oddly enough, I bought Spiceworld just last week. I've always liked it. I'm saving it for a special occasion.

There was an item on Newsround yesterday about film and tv costumes being auctioned. The woman presenting it said something along the lines of 'these two outfits were worn by Victoria Beckham in a film called Spiceworld' - in a you probably won't have heard of it tone, which made me feel very old.

I watched a film called Jack and Sarah on the telly the other night for the second time. I had previously watched it on Channel 4 last Summer but I just had to see it again, so I watched it on E4.
It's an incredibly cheesey film starring Richard E Grant as a widowed father and Samantha Mathis as his American nanny. You can see the ending coming a mile off (apart from one small detail but you get the idea right from the start of the film.)
I don't think it's shit but it's quite naff. I still love it though. Good ol' slushy nonsense.

Not a rubbish flm, really, but I watched Ghost last night and really enjoyed it even though it's transparently manipulative.

Saw Hot Fuss a while ago and it reminded me of my completely bizarre love of Point Break. Watched it again on Channel 5 and still think it's great in a over the top, crappy dialogue way. I also really fancy Patrick Swayze in it.

I also really fancy Patrick Swayze in it. Point Break is completely amazing! It's just a wonderful Keanu-fest. Every time I see it, I can be relied upon to shout "Not the face! Not the face!" when that geezer is trying to force Keanu's head into the lawnmower. Patrick Swizzle's 'philosophy' is just so preposterous, but the presence of the magnificent heart-attack-waiting-to-happen, Gary Busey, negates the pretentiousness. (Incidentally, did anyone ever watch 'I'm With Busey' were a guy just hung out with Gary Busey? It was great.) That Lori Petty woman is crap though, and the Anthony Keidis cameo is rather excruciating.

Point Break is my favourite crap film ever. I mean, it's fucking gorgeous to look at. There's the sea, lots of crashy waves and blue sky. There's Keanu looking seriously hawt. There's swizzle, looking fucktastic. There's also a rollicking storyline, Busey (wannabe Nick Nolte but never quite got the roles), silly Lori, muscles, spirituality, the quest for the big one as metaphor for just about anything. Wow, it's perfect.

The "readers" (the ones who don't just look at the pictures) of Maxim magazine have voted Big Trouble In Little China the worst film of all time (see film.guardian.co.uk/news/story/0,,2030236,00.html). Wankers. BTILC is great - it's unbelievably 80s (it has Kim Cattrall in it, for goodness' sake) but it's a great rollocking laugh. With wonderfully cheesy effects.

We watched The Lost Boys in our English class when we were 12, but we had to get a note from our parents first because it was a 15. I can't remember what we were supposed to learn from it, but I can still more or less recite the script, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. Death by stereo, I'll pray I never need to call you, you read the TV Guide you don't a TV etc etc I think my most quoted film of all time has to be Clueless. If there's a better eupheumism for periods than 'surfing the crimson wave', I haven't heard it.

I watched Zoolander last night, it was shit, I loved it.
The models at the petrol station scene and Mila Jovavitch in general were the high points.
Sucks in cheeks, turns to the right Blue Thunder

Zoolander is hilarious. "It's a walk-off!"
OK I think this one really qualifies: I accidentally started watching 'Me, Myself and Irene' on Saturday night and after an initial snobby groan, realised it was addictively funny.
Jim Carey really is brilliant at ludicrous comedy. His delivery of Hank's preposterous lines is amazing: "Just because I rock, doesn't mean I'm made of stone." and "Hey Pocahontas, if you don't keep your ear to the ground, you'll never hear the buffalo coming." And the fact that his kids are all black men about 5 years younger than him (including the essential comedically obese man) is so crass, but yet so funny at the same time.

I always though Zoolander was funny cos it was good, not funny cos it was bad.
I have a soft spot for Guy Ritchie films - I know, I should be lined up against a wall and shot. They're both funny bad and quite enjoyable chewing gum for the mind kind of films. Ugh, I feel so ashamed.

The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel. There will never come a time when I grow tired of these two films - the girl who played Jan was absolutely terrific. Jennifer Elise Cox. She's popped up in SITC (as a bitch who won't let Samantha get a seat in a trendy restaurant) and the Comeback (as the girl who takes the Sun Lounger in the shade that Valerie wants so she won't burn). She's also in "sometimes they come back for more". I'm sure she gets killed by flying tarot cards in that. Whenever I get mashed late at night I put this on. I must have watched it about 100 times and I still can't remember anythign about it, beyond Mariah being the only one who's dressed in modern clothes while the rest of the cast are in 80s get-ups. Also, isn't there some weird thing with silver stripes on her bodies that change location in every scene? Oh, and I remember that the final scene is her running through a trailer park crying "momma" in a fish-tail gown.

Gattaca I am reliably informed by my cool friends that this is one of the crappest films ever produced. But I love it. Whats not to love?
Ethan Hawke - Yes Please. Jude Law (pre hair loss and bad publicity) - C'mon! Uma Thurman - Godess!
Three utterly edible stars in futuristic sci-fi detective/who-done-it/love story.
And Gore Vidals in it! Its the Gayest Sci-fi of the 90's. If this is wrong, I dont want to be right.
