I can't stop watching "The Brady Bunch in the White House" , even though it sullies the good "Brady Bunch movie" name with its incoherence and cardboard sets and lack of decent Jan, simply because my mind sits there constantly going
"the one who played Peter in the other two films is now playing Greg! That is a Fun Fact. Although he is nowhere near as fit..."
and that pulls me through to the end

Also featuring Tori Spelling and numerous other legends...does anything beat THIS: I think not!

Slightly late to the party, but I just wanted to join in the Trick love. It's so sweet, and anything with Tori Spelling in it gets my vote I haven't seen Trick, but must rectify this situation with haste. My fave from the Tori 'canon' is Alibi, where she plays a phonesexing champion skier. There's a brilliant bit where she tries on a kimono dressing gown for ten minutes in a saucy fashion, unaware that a perve is watching her via a changing room security camera. I'd like to see Mind Over Murder as it's where she met her husband guy, so real life sexual tension may be in evidence. Plus it sounds great: "Holly Winters (Tori Spelling) is an unhappy-in-love, prosecuting attorney. After suffering a serious head injury, she gains the psychic power to read minds and decides to use this new-found power to catch a killer."

Going back to a film discussed before...
"Mrs 'Arris Goes to Paris" is going to be given an official release soon. Different places have different dates and details... but it seems that it's going to be out in time for Christmas anyway.
HMV have it on pre-release for £3.99.
Can't be bad for some quality Angela.

The Color of Night is a real treat when you want to watch badly acted, appallingly written soft-porn-dressed-up-as-a-psychological thriller. It has the most inane plot twist ever but at least you do see Bruce Willis's bell end.

Madame Sousatzka is on Channel 5 on Wednesday afternoon and stars Shirley McLaine as an eccentric piano teacher type who tutors a very young Kurt from Teachers and lives next door to Twiggy. From what I remember of it, it isn't especially good, but it is especially enjoyable.

There was one with Sheila Hancock in it, and a child who had to make her a coat of feathers, and at the end she sang and then died. I cried far too much at that film but don't remember what it was called.

I cried far too much at that film but don't remember what it was called. I think it was called 'Feather Boy'. It wasn't a proper film but a BBC film thing. The villainous child in it was very gender challenged - I think it was a boy but I really couldn't tell. A crap film that I didn't love but did cry over was A.I. I was quite literally prostrate with grief. I had tears (and snot) running down my face and on to my duvet for about an hour during and after that film and I couldn't summon the willpower to even try and clean myself up. Thankfully I was home alone. It would have been just too shaming to try explain that I was crying like an Italian widow at a Mafia funeral over the kid from the Sixth Sense being a robot.

I was a blubbering wreck for the rest of the day.

I will certainly be tuning into this today, it sounds fabulously awful. Particularly like the EPG info:
Absorbing character study of an eccentric and reclusive London piano teacher who teaches her wards not only how to play, but 'how to live'.
The mind boggles

I quite enjoyed watching it again, but mon dieu, what WAS Twiggy wearing in the scene at the concert?

This came in on an HMV email today:
Poltergay Emma and Marc, two young lovers, move into a house, which has been uninhabited for thirty years. What they don't know is that in 1979, in a cave under the house, there was a gay disco, which burned down when a foam machine short-circuited, and five bodies were never found. Today the house is haunted by five gay fetishist ghosts, however, only Marc is able to see them, and his visions drive Emma away. The ghosts, touched by Marc's problems, do everything in their power to help him get his girl back. In French with English subtitles.
Why haven't I heard of this before? It puts 'Ghostwatch' well in the shade!

"Dr. Jekyll & Ms. Hyde", mainly because of Sean Young as Helen Hyde. Her best role for me though was when she played Lola Cain in "Fatal Instinct", which was a spoof of the film noir genre. She does that comedy femme fatale thing really well.

I quite enjoy George Of The Jungle, especially the elephant as a dog and the narrator saying the elephant chewing a bone was "too much". Oh, and the end using stock footage from The Lion King.

I watched Ice Princess today. Totally corny. Love.
I am waiting for Meet the Fockers, a great movie so it shouldn't really be mentioned in this thread.

Plus Brendan Fraser half naked and looking hot in a loincloth throughout. And Brendan Fraser looking hot in a suit. Oh, and Brendan Fraser looking hot minus clothes in the just-got-out-of-shower scene. The bit where she gives him a ring that she got from a cereal packet when she was little is quite sweet as well.

The BurbsNow, I don't know about you, but The 'Burbs is in my humble view, one of the greatest films of all time. Seriously. You can keep your Schindler's list, your Saving Private Ryan, and all that other award winning jazz. I don't care. As far as I'm concerned, The 'Burbs has it all; drama, world class acting, tension, plot, comedy, enough tragedy to rival a Greek fable, action and Corey fucking Feldman. One summer when I was younger, me and my bro watched The 'Burbs everyday for like 2 months. (I know, hark at my amazing life) But yeah, we loved it. I can quote the movie word for word in its entirety. Who can forget such inspired and articulate dialogue such as: "Walter. I know you're in there. That scum-sucking, barking rat of yours has just taken his last dump on my lawn. I find one more- just one- and I'm gonna catch him and staple his ass shut."and.. "I've never seen that. I've never seen anybody drive their garbage down to the street and bang the hell out of it with a stick. I-I've never seen that."Anyway, you can take my word for it, or you can check it out yourself. The DVD is dirt cheap these days. But to whet your appetite a little, here is the original trailer and also a scene from the film where our heroes discuss the sad tale of Skip the Ice Cream vendor man. Oscar worthy, I think you'll agree.

Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country - I am watching it now and it opens with the titles rolling through space which, as you know, is the best way for any film to open. Christopher Plummer AKA Captain Von Trapp is a Shakespeare spouting Klingon with rubbish bumps. Kim Catrall is a Vulcan with a bad haircut who is also a mass murderer and there's a tranny type shape shifter who smokes cigars and acts as the mama morton of the piece. EDIT and who's played by Iman! It may be faultless, I will investigate further. It is indeed faultless. Fabulous excerpts include Christian Slater getting pwned by Sulu, the battle at the end with the cloaked bird of Prey (Shakespeare quoting and all), the most uncomfortable space dinner party ever, Iman the exotic prison skank, the bit where Kirk kicks that alien in the knee-balls, the bit where Chancellor Gorkon is assasinated (with Klingon blood floating in zero gravity), Spock and Kim Catrall's mind meld, Michelle McNicols trying to convince the Klingon outpost that they're a Klingon freighter by reading a dictionary and telling jokes and the bit at the end when the baddies try another assasination attempt and Kirk et al have seconds to intervene. It's one of my favourite films ever. I must go and buy the DVD tomorrow. Overdraft be damned.

I watched an incredibly crap early 90s film that I couldn't help but love on More 4 on Saturday. It was called 'Gas, Food and Lodging' and was totally awful - like a dullsville made-for-tv thing trying to be a bit indie. Ione Skye was magnetic in her hopelessness and best of all she managed to have sex in a cave with... Robert Knepper i.e. T-Bag from Prison Break in non-rapist mode! She then totally spoiled the mood by relating tales of gang rape right afterwards. T-Bag had a bad English accent and was dressed like Johnny Depp circa Benny and Joon. Ione's little sister tried to get off with Donovan Leitch but obviously he was the town gay so that was a bit awkward. T-Bag got squashed in a cave and died.
