'Razzle dazzle: A Journey into Dance' lifts the curtain on the eager members of Mr Jonathon's Dance Academy as they prepare for Australia's most prestigious dance competition. Amidst parental politics, dance school rivalry, creative controversy and the hysterics of pushy stage mothers Mr Jonathan stands true to his vision - not only does he want to entertain, he wants to educate. With his unique routines, like the Kyoto Protocol Shuffle, he aspires to reflect the oppression and injustices in the world.
I'd not heard a bean about this until I saw posters around the underground for it. It's Australian, it's got Tara Morice in it, and our very own Ben Miller. Therefore it sound completely worthy of of a thread on here even though I've not seen it yet. It's showing at my local multiplex this week and I may just have to pop along.

I NEED to see this, but they don't seem to show it at my local multiplex after 6pm. BOO!
It is from the producers of Priscilla, QOTD apparently.

I finally got to see this this evening, and it was worth the 3 month wait. Everyone leaving the cinema was smiling.
Imagine the love child of Strictly Ballroom and Little Miss Sunshine, but carried in the surrogate womb of Best In Show and delivered by Kath and Kim.
Half the fun is working out where you've seen the actors before. Wasn't she in Home & Away? Wasn't he in The Flying Doctors AND The Sullivans? Was she in Prisoner? And what about her from A Country Practice? And Rebecce Napier from Neighbours is in it as a dance teacher with a face as tight as her bun. And THE Barry Crocker has a cameo!
There's the best pushy mother ever to be committed to celluloid, a pair of hot daddies, a performance of Venus that rivals Muriel and Rhondda's Waterloo, a dance montage to Toni Basil's Mickey, and Leo Sayer pops up. And for Nurse Dunkley, there's even a little ginger girl who dances, but doesn't cry.
Lovefilm tells me it's released on dvd in a month's time, and I really do recommend it to anyone, everyone and their lesbian flatmates.
