Anyone seen Kath and Kim on f tn? You can get f tn on Freeview and other digital tv methinks. (f tn also has the Jay Leno show ) It's been described as the australian office, but only because its low-budget and the camera work is similar. Anyways, I think its brilliant, especially the Prue and Trude characters

I really like it but I wish they'd put it on terrestrial tv. Sometimes I hate liking these cult shows and it's only when some c*nty journalist talks about it in the tabloids that people actually take notice of it.

Oh Lordy. I heart this show so much. It is the funniest thing on TV at the moment.
Tonights episode on FTN was the season two one where Sharon has a boyfriend,Brett and Kim go to Ikea and Kath takes one too many "herbal relaxants" before her big floral design show
"Look at moiiiii, Kim, look at moii." Hilarious.

Sharon is just Kims friend she says she is her second best friend.

It's"pash rash" of course, in the vernacular. That was last night's FTN episode. I think I may forfeit a potentially productive day at work tomorrow to stay up until 0040 to watch tonight's episode.
Can anyone comment on how one might get an R2 DVD of Series One or Two? Only R4 on ebay...

I've had both seasons of K&K on Oz DVD for a while and it's well worth it. (Also have their first series - Big Girls Blouse which is very Australian. Good to see but not really worth buying). You might be better to hack your DVD to play any format rather than have to wait for things being released in this country. Mine came hacked already but this is a useful site: www.videohelp.com/dvdhacksK&K have also brought out a party album featuring their hit 'Lady Bump' and very sadly I have the Kath & Kim dress up fridge magnets!

I read they performed 'Lady Bump' at the Oz version of the Oscars and got a standing ovation!

Highlights of last night's episode:
1) The wedding dress, and ensuing conversation about sheep
2) K walking in town amongst the neon signs
3) All of it, really.

From today's Sun:
POP princess Kylie Minogue will appear in Aussie sitcom Kath And Kim — after begging producers for a cameo role. Kylie, 33, is a big fan of the show, screened here on Living TV.
On an Aussie chat show she said: “Come on guys give this young actress a role.” Delighted producers contacted her immediately

Apparently ol Kyles has been dropping hints every time she's been out here about being on the show. The show itself hasn't confirmed anything at all (of course).
Kath & Kim is brilliantly hilarious. I bought my mum the DVD of the second season for Xmas which made for excellent holiday repeated viewing while staying with ma.
And may I say that you Brits have some amusing episodes to look forward to - one of them being a great episode on shitehouse baby names (which naturally, Kath and Kim find beautiful). Think of the "Taighloohr Annah" kind of names.
Dont know if they appear frequently in Britain but 14 year olds named Sharon from Queensland tend to name their kids rubbish names like that. There's going to be an entire generation of Australian adults with the most fucked up ridiculous names ever. Including a Kath and Kim relative

Including a Kath and Kim relative Oh yes, we have that problem over here - hence the popularity of names like Chardonnay, Jordan and, err, Kylie.

Just in case anyone missed it on ftn, they are repeating the first series on Living TV, Thursdays, 8.30.

Ftn and LivingTV are owned by the same company, so it will probably crop up on Ftn once the latest run on LivingTV finishes.

I'm hoping that, if it does well enough ratings-wise on Living, then Channel 4 might pick it up (just like they eventually did with Will & Grace).

They must, it would be a crime against humanity not to let everyone see this.

Actually I couldn't believe that C4 waited that long to pick up one of the biggest sitcoms in the states. Without rubbing it in the show has been on Irish tv for years, we're about a season behind. I think Kath and Kim could even just be big on a cult scale but it would definitely do well on terristrial if promoted right.

Terrestrial TV here is always a couple of years behind Sky due to the buying power of Rupert Murdoch, so I'm not surprised.
