The one with the party.... "You don't talk to Filipinos, you hand them your used cutlery!" I use this phrase in conversation far too often. One other thing I would love to have on DVD was the special they did when the BBC turned 60, and basically the entire world of light entertainment did a turn. I have only the vaguest memory of it, but I do remember Victoria Wood "updated Acorn Antiques to deal with today's issues". If I remember rightly, Mrs Overall was a crack-addicted AIDS ridden whore.

Mrs Overall announced (sort of) that she was a lesbian. Berta was the crack addicted whore.
"So Berta, are you still turning to prostitution to fund your crack habit?"

As Seen On TV is due out in March, RRP just below £30, indicating that it's probably the entire run of 13 episodes.

Sunset Beach: The Best Bits. Such as the earthquake/tidalwave disaster, Terror Island and the baby swap. With added features: Annie's fantasies and both sets of opening credits. And a soundtrack CD.

Children's Ward should be out on DVD, if only for the comedy potential of spotting a future star every three minutes. And early-era Byker Grove deserves a release too (Spuggy! Donna! Nicola! PJ and Duncan! Snobby Julie and Biker Gill! Frazer! Alison! Geoff! Etc!)

I watched loads of early-90s Children's Ward recently - it was actually brilliant.

Yep, it changed last week, but it might change again... play.com's descriptions are famously inaccurate.

surely its time malcolm in the middle made its dvd appearance? You can get the first season in the States, but no more releases have been forthcoming. Perhaps it didn't sell that well.

Hooray for the Cardiac Arrest release!
I'd also add my vote for the incomparable My So-Called Life, although my desire for a DVD set has been fulfilled by a friend buying me an excellent copied version for Xmas.
As If would be great, but I suspect there'd be a problem with the sheer amount of music rights.
Terri McIntyre: Classy Bitch of course, though I seem to remember someone on here once saying they'd asked the BBC about this and they had replied "never".
Takin' Over the Asylum would be good, especially since David Tennant was in it and obviously his name could draw people to buy it.
Plus some kind Neighbours: Best Of selection.

It sold reasonably well but the sheer costs of getting music licensing meant it wasn't financially worth it to release any more seasons. This happens a lot sadly.

That's also the reason why Scrubs was delayed on dvd a lot, but they seem to have sorted that out now.
My Name is Earl also has a lot of music in that, but they have changed some of the tracks on the dvd, which begs the question, why not do that with Malcolm? I personally wouldn't be that bothered, I just want the comedy aspects

And you just know that when you pick it up at an inflated price, another company will re-issue it on DVD. I loved Brass too. There were three series - two for ITV in the 1980's and a third made by Channel 4 in 1990. It'd be interesting to see it again, because as a parody I suspect it's aged much better than Soap. I have got series one on DVD and although it is clearly very eighties, it is still hilarious, and I don't think it has aged particularly. You probably do need to be aware of all the great eighties dramas (Brideshead, Dynasty et cetera) to get the full picture. but anyone who watches any soap opera will get the joke. Caroline Blakiston and Barbara Ewing are comedy Gods. The complete series of Brass comes out on 11th June.

I personally wouldn't be that bothered, I just want the comedy aspects The cost of edit time to strip commercial music and change it is really rather a lot, which in turn begs the question why do they put it in in the first place when they could use library music etc? The answer to which is producers get very arsey about this sort of thing, as if anyone even notices the difference.
