In no particular order
1. Steve McQueen from The Great Escape 2. David McCallum as Illya Kurayakin in the Man From UNCLE 3. Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner 4. Sting as long as he hasn't got a beard 5. David Bowie White Soul Period 6. Pal Waaktaar from A-Ha 7. Julian Sands from A Room With A View 8. Anthony Andrews in Brideshead Revisited 9. James Wilby in Maurice 10. Martin Fry circa Lexicon Of Love
I've had about 25 years of unrequited love! Quite a few of these people tend to show up in Sunday Evening drama ruining my memories.

In no particular order, complete with weird choices: Gabriel Byrne in Stigmata (I was very young, I think maybe I had a thing for priests.) Gael Garcia Bernal. Obviously. Thierry Henry, especially in the Renault ads. Charlie Brooker Dara O Briain (!) I concur entirely with the love of Guy Berryman. Thierry Godard from French CSI-type thing Spiral (He's the one on the right) The young one off Mock The Week, Russell Howard Thierry Hay, who does the press review on Télématin, a bit like an intelligent GMTV. Another odd choice perhaps, but again, I think it's the twinkly eyes: and finally, Stuart Murdoch from Belle and Sebastian: To summarise: I like French guys called Thierry, and have no taste whatsoever.

(I was very young, I think maybe I had a thing for priests.) It's a shame you weren't a young boy, you could have been fighting them off with a stick.

Literally.
Since i mentioned my Casino Royale preference to my mum, she keeps winking at me and wiping imaginary blood from her eye. Hilarious.

To summarise: I like French guys called Thierry, and have no taste whatsoever. How about Thierry L'Hermitte? His uncle Edgar was quite hot in Le Divorce.

How about Thierry L'Hermitte? His uncle Edgar was quite hot in Le Divorce. This guy? He's quite lovely, I'll need to actually watch Le Diner de Cons now.

Assuming this is an "All Time" Top 10 List, here goes:
In no particular order, except: 1. Paul Newman--in his prime, one of the most gorgeous men to ever grace the earth
then,
2. Greg Louganis--aging "okay", but Jesus did he look good in a Speedo, good looking to boot 3. Robert Conrad--US actor, again almost untouchable for his fineness (is that a word?) in his prime 4. David Chokachi--US actor, looking even better than in his young "Baywatch" days 5. Rusty Joiner--US fitness, video, and TV commercial model 6. Martin O'Malley--Governor of Maryland 7. Taye Diggs--US actor 8. Brad Ausmus--US baseball player 9. Kevin Williams--US porn performer! actually met him, absolutey beautiful 10. (Tie) Frederick Michalak--French rugby player/George Eads--US actor in "CSI"
thanks,
tigger

I apparently have a 'thing' for floppy haired jailbait and/or broody guys. I'd say you're just human. I feel gang-banged scrolling this thread. I'll post my own list, just, after.

1. Craig Doyle - mainly for being my first boy-crush, and I've stayed loyal. 2. Joe McFadden 3. Jake Gyllenhaal 4. Grant Nicholas circa Yesterday Went Too Soon 5. Ste McNally (if Junky can have him out of MN8, nothing's too embarrassing) 6. James Marsters circa Buffy seasons 5 through 7 7. Freddie Ljungberg 8. David James 9. Chris Evans (fit actor, not Billie-porking DJ) I really can't make my mind up for 10th place. It's a toss-up between Tony Lundon, Tim Wheeler, Ian Watkins (the Lostprophet, not the Step), and Joe Cole. Suggestions welcomed. Okay, I'm SO not paying attention to Eurovision, as I've just had a Eureka moment as to who my 10th place bloke is... Tyron Leitso! No? Anyone know who he is? I actually began considering - given that this is a poll, after all - who to vote for and whether it'd have any greater impact in the overall result, yadda yadda yadda. But then I thought, "sod it, it's about who I'd do." When does the poll close, BTW?

Oh fuck. Listening to my iPod on the way home I realised that I need to bump somebody off my list to make room for JC Chasez, and I have no idea who.

I want to add Dylan Moran after the 7 hour Black Books marathon I had on Monday.
We really need to make it more than 10...

Results to be announced soon.

After lots of highly scientific counting the results are finally in! Sorry it's taken so long - I plead illness and lack of time. Also apologies for lack of photos - I'm currently in work so can't really go and look for any on the Interweb (the other librarians might think it's porn!). Of course if anyone else wants to add them then that would be great!
Anyway the good people of lowculture have voted and the Lowculture Top Ten of Men are:
10 - Joaquin Phoenix As seen in lots of indie films and being Johnny Cash in Walk the Line .
9 - Josh Holloway Sawyer off Lost and Mr Davidoff. Appears to be allergic to shirts which is good.
8 - David Tennant Doctor Who. Obviously.
7 - Chris Evans An actor apparently. Not too be confused with the ginger DJ.
6 - Justin Timberlake Pop superstar and (if rumours are to be believed) all round man-slag.
5 - Johnny Depp Currently to be seen wearing to much St Tropez and eye liner in Pirates of the Caribbean.
4 - Freddie Ljungberg Footballer for Arsenal and Sweden but more importantly a one time Calvin Klein model. Famously seen flogging their super tight pants in an ad so porntastic the poster in Debenhams once made me crash into a lamp post.
3 - Jared Leto Has been in lots of films but no one cares because we all still love him best because of My So Called Life.
2 - Gael Garcia Bernal Most recently seen looking a bit bearded in Babel. Best appreciated getting homoerotic in Mexican shagfest Y Tu Mama Tambien.
1 - JAKE GYLLENHAAL Actor who combines being very good with a willingness to take off his clothes (please see Brokeback Mountain and Jarhead).

Thanks thelovely!
Only one of my men in the overall top ten, but he came first so all is right with the world.
I have never understood the whole Joaquin Phoenix thing, but for the rest of them I must say we have excellent taste.

Three of mine made it in, more than I was expecting. Surprised there were no other votes for Craig Doyle though! Ah well, that just leaves his damned wife for me to annihilate.
Surprised to see just one Brit in there too - it would appear our collective tastes lean more towards the Abercrombie catalogue than Grattan's...
Cheers for doing this Kate!
