Gosh, look at Mark Ronson's front bottom in those trousers! I did that for about an hour yesterday.

Oh, hello Mark for those trousers.
Actually, it occurred to me the other day in Gap (when I was faced with a giant picture of Mark Ronson) that I had unforgivably left him off my Top 10 list.

schmindie, I've only just realised that Keith Murray in that last photo looks like my last non-celebrity crush WHO SEEMS TO HAVE DISAPPEARED. So thanks for reopening very fresh wounds there. Not really.
This question is really important for tallying up my Top Ten of Men - should the Flight of the Conchords count in their individual members or as a whole? As much as Jemaine's my favourite, I don't really want to leave Bret out in my fantasises of man-lady-man threesomes and there's a sense of inseparability there that I don't get from the Mighty Boosh for example. We need official rules here.

My friends met him tonight. They touched him, they kissed him, he told Lauren he was doing shots with her gran last night. Bitches.

We need official rules here. In the lack of any sort of official, I'll answer this in my role as person-who-will-eventually-tot-up-the-numbers-honest: Feel free to include them both as one entry. However, if other people have nominated them individually, the group nominations will be counted as separate from the individiual nominations, if that makes sense.

I'm not quite sure why Mr Ronson is hanging out with two gangsta Ronald McDonalds.

Ooh, Keith Murray makes me want to amend my list. I could come up with a Top Ten Blokes With Guitars list literally within seconds.
I'm also mulling over whether to ditch someone for Rav Wilding. I really shouldn't care so much about this.

Finally my votes come in. My Top 10, with last year's position in brackets*: 10. (-) Chris Evans 09. (-) Mark Ruffalo 08. (4) Drew Fulller 07. (-) JC Chasez 06. (-) Daniel Boys 05. (-) Adrian Pasdar 04. (1) Jensen Ackles 03. (-) Mark Ronson 02. (-) John Krasinski 01. (5) Paul Rudd * I originally wanted to include Travis Wester because I have the biggest crush on him at the moment, but I couldn't find any good pictures of him, so he is here in spirit only.

Unfortunately, that's his girlfriend who features as the date in the video. Sadface. These are me pals with him: I'd also do Chris Cain of We Are Scientists, but as [james] puts it, 'harry potter circa 2038' I do love that not only are they fit, they are hilarious: NME awards coverage 'I like that you got that tattoo of a python on your BING BANG'

Results are in! I had to make some allowances because not everyone provided a full list (in which case I gave allocated points from 10 downwards, not 1 upwards) and some people didn't specify an order (in which case I went with the order they were listed on the page). So without further ado, I present The Lowculture Top Ten of Men 2008:
01. Jake Gyllenhaal 02. David Tennant 03. Mark Ronson 04. James Marsden 05. Gareth David-Lloyd 06.= Russell Howard 06.= Chris Evans (actor, not DJ and media mogul) 08. James McAvoy 09. Paul Rudd 10. Russell Tovey
Bubbling under (the ones that nearly made the top ten, but just fell short): Christian Cooke Gethin Jones John Krasinski Daniel Boys Noel Fielding
Interesting(ish) facts: - Jake Gyllenhaal not only won on points, but was also featured on more lists than anyone else - Chris Evans was in the lower end of most lists, but was on enough separate lists to make into the overall Top 10 - David Tennant got more top scores than anyone else - The difference between third place and tenth place is a mere 10 points. The distance between first place and second place is 16 points.
I might update this bit with (non hotlinking, not naming any names) pictures at some point. Otherwise, see you next year.

Oh bugger, I missed the boat once again! Damn you and your efficient totting up of results Steven! Assembling all the pretty pictures for my 10 proved way too distracting this evening. And I probably could have nudged Christian Cooke in to the top 10 as well...
Anyway, congratulations Jake – you're a worthy winner. Keep the speech short.

Cheers for sorting it all out Steven!

American gays have also voted, and their tastes aren't too disimilar to the lowculture collective. Quite a few surprises in there really and everyone's individual top ten has at least 5 or 6 men featuring in the list. www.afterelton.com/people/2008/6/hot100
