Patrick Stewart is doing MacBeth at my local theatre at the moment. I'm tempted to go just to see how hammy Pat makes it.

Did you see owt in the end? I did - I saw Boeing Boeing which was marvellously funny; Michelle Gomez's performance was even better than I thought it would be. And I saw Cabaret which I liked a lot and left me with a big lump in my throat., and I saw Treats with Billie which was a bit dull but she was very good, and I was Evita which was very good indeed and made me cry. It all seems such a distant memory!

Does anyone know where I can get Rent tickets? I thought they were on sale this Monday but I can't find anything on Ticketmaster or the usual suspects.

I saw Zoe Wanamaker in The Rose Tattoo last week.
I have become addicted to the National Theatre's £10 ticket scheme. The seats were to the side but I could still see the sweat on her tits.
The only disappointment was the missing goat due to the livestock travel ban.

I've not managed to find Rent tickets yet. Shout if you do.
Edit - Ticketmaster seem to have them now.

Isn't Rent meant to introduce "concert-style" ticketing, in a bid to attract younger audiences to the theatre?

Yes, except as far as I can work out, that's gone by the wayside and all they're actually doing is doling out different-tiered tickets with unreserved seating.

I have become addicted to the National Theatre's £10 ticket scheme. You're not the only one. Last week I watched Fiona from Shameless pretend to be Joan of Arc. She was amazing.

Grumpy Old Women Live is coming near me, I may be forced to go and watch. Allbeit alone, there aren't many other 20 year old males who identify with them.

I wasn't sure whether to add this to the Theatre thread but thought seeing as Harry Potter's cock is in the Movies section this should be too. I got very excited when I saw the casting for this - Diana Rigg as Huma Rojo! Joanne Froggett as Academy Award Nominee Penelope Cruz! Lesley Fucking Manville! No mention of who is playing Agredo yet. Jodie Marsh would be perfect physically, if she only she could act. However, the BBC story that can be seen !here! has three total factual inaccuracies which made me very angry: The 68-year-old actress will star alongside Lesley Manville - famous for her role in Secrets and Lies - when the play opens in August. WRONG!! Lesley Manville was in Secrets And Lies for about 2 minutes as the social worker. She was in High Hopes though. Dame Diana will play ageing actress Huma Rojo, who embarks on a life-changing road trip after the death of her son. Manville, 51, will play Manuela. WRONG!! It's Manuela who goes on the road trip. Joanne Frogatt, who recently played Moors murderer Myra Hindley in TV drama See No Evil: The Moors Murders, will play nun Sister Rosa in the play - a role filled by Penelope Cruz in the film. WRONG!! Maxine Peake played Myra for fucks sake, Joanne played Myra's sister. So bad I thought I was reading DigitalSpy for a minute. Mark Gattis is playing Agredo! The whole thought of this theatre experience fills me with so much delight. After David TennantHunter sent me a link for half price tickets I may have to book for September.

My goodness, friend of lowculture Miss Tracy Ann Oberman is to appear in Boeing Boeing soonish. As the German air hostess. She might even be as good as Michelle Gomez. Who was amazing.
Jennifer Ellison is appearing too, as the American, playing the part that Tamsin Outhwaite and Amy Nuttall played. Nikki Sanderson must be hoping she's next.

I'm guessing that it's a play set on a plane, well if Nikki Sanderson stars then i'd be praying that Al Quedia would hijack and kill the talentless whore. Not that I dislike her or anything.

I saw Boeing Boeing last week, distinctly average comedy - it ain't that funny and wasn't a patch on the last French Farce I saw, See You Next Tuesday which had the added lowculture value of Patsy Kensit.

Thank you to David for bringing this to my attention: www.newtheatrecardiff.co.uk/english/event.asp?id=229Karen McDonald and Sue Ellen Ewing on the same stage together. It's almost as exciting as Henry Ramsay and Cliff Barnes doing White Christmas at, erm, Christmas. I'm up in London again in a fortnight and am quite keen to see Hairspray, but not sure I want to pay £60 for a ticket. I quite fancy Glengarry Glen Ross actually, although watching screaming and shouting from highly aclaimed actors isn't nearly as enjoyable as a singalong.

One of my favourite gay films, 'The Ritz' - a madcap comedy set in a gay sauna starring Rita Moreno, has been restaged on Broadway. I'm hoping it not only means it'll come to London but they'll eventually release it on DVD. I see Fred Elliot in the main role and Margarita Pracatan in the Rita role!

I think 'Without You' may have been one of the few songs they didn't actually fuck up all that badly. But dear God, the show was a mess. Leon Lopez was good though.

Not an unenjoyable mess, exactly, just a puzzling one.
