I went mental (well as mental as you can go in stationary shop) in a stationary shop today and bought loads of stuff that IS going to make me study, like pretty pens. The excitement has faded a bit since I bought it, but i'm still confident it will keep my occupied for at least some time.
Problem is, my motivation fucked off approximately a year and half ago, and has never found its way back.
It's comforting to find other people the same, though.

I have my first shorthand exam on Friday at 80 words-per-minute. In class today I completely struggled to do most of a two minute passage at that speed, completely missing out words and even whole sentences. In the exam we have to be able to take four minutes with only eight mistakes allowed. I just can't do it.
It's also the most boring thing to practice: we get a CD of a monotone lady speaking about "council plans to build hotel" and equally uninteresting passages. I've started trying to record the script perfectly in Coronation Street instead.

I had my oral exam today and it went well, apart from the fact that when giving my epic 9 minute presentation the external examiner had an expression on her face like she'd smelt shit, which wasn't down to the quality of my Russian because it was amazing. And I managed the highly taxing questions posed which really put my 4 years of learning the language to use, such as "Do you play a musical instrument?".

Well that was a horrible experience. After spending all day yesterday revising, I had my exam this morning. As I turned over the paper, I realised that I'd forgotten to have a last minute look at the poster over my bed with the equations I can never remember on. There's only 4 of them. And guess what was on my exam. So, instead I decided to do the other question, and proceeded to make up any old nonsense in the hope that maybe a couple of marks would come my way through pity. Luckily, I think i managed to scrape enough marks (25%) to mean that I can scrape by.

With the exception of various corrections and massive rephrasing tomorrow, I HAVE FINISHED MY DISSERTATION. Booyah!

Hooray for both of you.
I have a batch of marking to do this week. Let's hope it's all of first and 2:1 standard, eh? (it won't be, but I can dream).

Had my last exam today which went really well even though I was very tired and now I'm completely and utterly done!
I've just realised just how much spare time I have until my post-grad starts in September..!

Tomorrow is my last exam. I could cry if I wasn't so anxious.

I had my last exam today. I think it went OK- I was worried I wouldn't be able to remember anything I'd been revising as it didn't seem to be sinking in while I was doing it, but it turned out I remembered pretty much everything and got it all down. I am dreading getting all the final results back though.

I submitted my PhD today.
Huzzah.
Instead of boring my friends with a 420 page behemoth, I've made a snappy youtube video to show them. It lasts 45 seconds.
(PM me should you like to see)

Got my degree mark back just now - I got a 2:2. I would have been pleased with that, had the course I applied for that is starting in September not asked me to get a 2:1 about a month ago. I'm hoping they'll let me on anyway as I think they really liked me in the group interview...

I'm going to need all the study help I can get to make it through uni now that I won't be legally allowed to relax with a bottle of wine in my own bloody house
*angry* (in case you hadn't guessed)

I have to get a 2:1 to do my MA next year, but after titting up 2 of the four modules I did last semester I really don't know whether I'm getting that or a 2:2 anymore. My uni results are out on either Wednesday or Thursday. FINGERS CROSSED

I e-mailed them as soon as I got the mark and they replied saying that I shouldn't have a problem getting on the course given the commitment I have to journalism, which is what I think they were looking for above everything else. So now I'm quite pleased!
Good luck with your results Nurse Dunkley!
