JK Rowling has buggered up the sweepstake a bit by saying she never actually said she was killing two characters: she was killing TWO MORE THAN PLANNED and she's been misquoted. So there may be a whole bunch of sweepy winners as it turns out there will be multiple deaths after all... Good point, but don't change your avatar because it's genius. I cannot wait for the bloodbath. Please kill Harry, J K. Fuck up all the kids.

Now I know there are more than two deaths, Harry is so dead. And Voldemort. And Mr Weasley and at least one Weasley child. And probably Aunt Petunia. And definitely Snape and Neville.

If Tonks doesn't die I am asking for my money back. Stupid cow, she is a disgrace to tranvestites the world over.

And probably Aunt Petunia. Ohh she best not! I quite like her and I expect big things from her this book.

My problem with Tonks is that she's meant to be 'cool', and really isn't. The same goes for the Weasley with the ponytail.

Perhaps there will be a total wipeout of wizards, and only Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia were going to be left but she though sod it they can die too. The last word was going to be scar as well but its not anymore.

I think Aunt Petunia will die heroically saving someone. Possibly Harry or Dudley. I like the Dursleys generally and I am expecting to find out a lot more about them in book 7.

True if Bill Weasley walked into my local with a ponytail he'd get laughed out for being an 80s reject. A pony tail on a bloke, I ask you. Ginger at that. Who is J.K trying to kid. If she wanted a really cool person in she's write Atia and Pullo from Rome into it.

Tonks really gets on my nerves with all that 'wotcher' crap. I envision her as a butch lesbian.

He saw the Dementors in book 5, didn't he? I don't think he saw them - just felt their presence. My fave bit in any of the books was in Goblet of Fire when Harry opens his Christmas present from the Dursleys and it's a tissue!! I proper "lolled" at that at the time. I think I even had tears in my eyes.

Oh, boo (ers). He felt them a bit more than most muggles though, didn't he? Because when they're around us we just feel a bit depressed, so I stand by my theory. Wasn't he loosing weight in the last book? Perhaps JK's making some sort of statement about child obesity and Dudley will become a Wizard once he's thin.

Hmmm, maybe there's a thin wizard somewhere inside him screaming to get out, then.
Hagrid to die, I say/hope.

He saw the Dementors in book 5, didn't he? I am with you on this. Am just rereading book 6 and Dumbledore tells the Dursleys off for treating Harry badly-but for treating Dudley even worse. I reckon that he was invited to go to Hogwarts but they hid it from him. And I have a theory that Petunia is a wizardy type really who turned her back on it...

Don't tell me I'm the only one who read about Sirius' death and thought, "How the hell is that supposed to kill him? It's a bloody veil, hardly the most terrifying thing ever!" I'm still not entirely sure how Sirius Black died. I've re-read that section several times, assuming it was my stupidity or that I missed a page, but I decided to put it down to clumsy prose. *anticipates heavy smiting*Anyone care to explain it to me, please?

The veil is the gateway between life and death. He fell into it thereby falling to his death. I think. It's a bit crap really.

Bellatrix blasted him and he fell into the gateway. The film does a (slightly) better job of it than the book.
I don't have anhy evidence for Petunia being wizardy, its just a thought. That, or she was mega jealous of her sister (or her sister was mean to her a la James/Snape). Somethings going on with her, anyway.
Now I'm torn betweebn racing through book 6 again or taking it slowly so it lasts until Frisay night.

What has everyone else done about ordering the book - play.com or amazon?
I am unsure whenever to read it on the day like i did last year and risk a seizure or accept that i am going to find out what happens, and just read it slowly.
Also - isn't it pretty much accepted now that Harry is a horcrux and will have to sacrifice himself for everyone - i can't see it ending any other way.

What has everyone else done about ordering the book - play.com or amazon? . Neither-a friend ordered it for me as a birthday prezzie from waterstone's. Am considering going at midnight, mainly because town is hell on a Saturday daytime (and parking is free at night). But then I will be tempted to stay up all night reading.

What always confused me is that if that is so and it's that easy to die, someone may as well just fall through it and come back to life. It's a bit... I don't know... rubbish, I suppose. And I ordered from amazon.

I've ordered it from Amazon, as I did the last time and it arrived bright and early on the Saturday morning. ACTUALLY! The post people - they're not striking next Friday/Saturday are they? Because if they are I'll cancel it and pop into town and get it, although I do have a fear of some bastard opening their copy of the book at the end and shouting "Can you believe Lily is Voldemort's Daughter?!". Well they can shout that because it's not true, I was just using it as an example for a secret. That said, if I was at uni I'd probably get a pissed up group together and buy it at midnight dressed as a broomstick or something, but at home I live miles away from shops and my friends are too rubbish.
I've also kept the day free to read it all, because otherwise I know that I'd be spoilered if I didn't. This plan has already caused friction with my dad because I'm refusing to do anything with the Grandparents who are up to visit. He doesn't understand that Harry Potter books are the best and he didn't like the excuse that I try not to get too attached to old people.
