I feel I have to finally admit this to everyone. Thank goodness there's now an actual lowculture forum to release this burden from my shoulders. Every Thursday I buy up to three X-Men publications. Before I skulk off into obscurity I have a couple of points to make. I cannot belive that Marvel are now claiming the Magneto who was Xorn wasn't Magneto or Xorn but an imposter. The real Magneto did not kill Jean and has been living on Genosha. What the fuck indeed. Secondly Emma Frost is my idol due to her general bitchiness and gravity defying costumes. Here is a selection: Isn't she splendid? I'm glad she shagged Cyclops, causing the break up of his marriage. Since shes the new head mistress of the school I hope she's in X-Men 3. I shall go now before I scare anyone else.

here are all the things i have to say about X-Men. i) the grant morrison stuff is great. ii) kitty pryde, so sweet and innocent. you're all we talk about! iii) nyx has the most beautiful art i've ever seen, but the actual writing seems a bit rubbish. the new mutants covers are incredible. joshua middleton. iv) the films were quite bad, but not nearly as bad as spider-man. v) i would imagine enjoying the x-men universe is one of the most expensive reading hobbies a person can cultivate. vi)

I thank you!
NYX is indeed a wankfest for the eyes. Its a shame Middleton's left the book. I loved his New Mutants covers. I can't take to New Mutants now its New X-men. It just doesn't seem right. And I want Wolfsbane and Karma back.
I *heart* Kitty/Shadowcat/Sprite/Ariel. She is fabulous in Astonishing. However I am confused as to why she is back to being child-like Kitty after being all Coyote Ugly for a while.
Is it wrong that I'm actually liking Austen's latest stuff? It may well be Larocca's artwork thats distracting me. Its still not as good as his uninked stuff though.

v) i would imagine enjoying the x-men universe is one of the most expensive reading hobbies a person can cultivate. It is! I love, love, love X-Men. I barely have any room to keep my comics anymore. And I'm probably the only person who didn't cream themselves over Grant Morrisons run. It was a masterpiece in someways but also extremely flawed. My fave X-Men era was definately the Austrailian outback era and nothing has yet to touch that. And my fave X-Man will always be Psylocke. Bastard hypocritical editors saying she has to stay dead when Clairmonts idea was to kill off his favourite character so she could return back to the girl she was to begin with. Though the X-men universe has suffered over the past 10 years anyway because there's been too many relaunches. Whenever the comics seem to be finding their flow there's an editiorial shift around and new writers and artists are brought on board with their new ideas. As such it's created so many open plot threads, contridictions and confusion it's unbelievable. Though this current relaunch has got me quite excited. It's nice to see some of my faves like Havok, Kitty, Polaris and Rachel back as major players in the core books. Though they haven't put Rachel and Kitty in the same book together and that is a travesty.

I've always wanted to get into X-Men but I can't. I used to read Spider-man (the crap UK reprint because I can't get the good American ones) and picked (a crap reprint) X-Men once and a while but it's just too complicated to possibly follow. I like the films, though.

Having just picked up a couple of recent issues I have a couple of questions;
1) When did Polaris go mad and leave Alex get off with the Blue haired nurse? 2) What happened to the fantastic Prositute X-Man Stacy X. 3) Magneto was Xorn and was killed, but the Real Magneto wasn't Xorn it was someone else, and Xorn is now alive. So who was the imposter Magneto/Xorn ?
You go away for 6 months and more stuff happens than in Sunset Beach!
