The first hour is classic Zelda, not really had a chance to play it because I'm so busy. God damn social life. Theres a huge feeling of deja vu but also a freshness, everything you want with a zelda game. And you get Epona right from the off!

I realised it is 9 years this Chrimmers since I got Ocarina of Time. I love Zelda so much! How different is the Wii version to the Gamecube? I'd quite like a Wii, but I hardly ever play computer games anymore, it just wouldn't be worth it.

It's a huge apology to Zelda fans who hated The Wind Waker, basically.
Forest Temple, Water Temple, Fire Temple... it's like a pastiche of all the classic dungeons but re-imagined and better designed. I just finished the fourth dungeon for example, and I had to chase down four Poes.
The styling is awesome though -- it's like playing a Miyazaki film. Very Princess Mononoke.
My only gripe is so far its been painfully easy. Everything is just a little bit too linear so far, I'd rather a bit of autonomy.
Don't know how the gameplay and graphics differ on the GC version, sorry.

I don't think theres any difference between the two version except the fishing game.

I thought the Forest Temple was a bit more tricky than usual for a first dungeon, but it I do agree that it seems a bit easy. It's bloody Midna, she keeps telling you what to do when she's not orgasming on the wolf's back. I don't like the big jumping thing with the wolf, there is no effort for the player.
On the box it says this is the biggest Zelda game ever, but are they talking about the size of the Hyrule or the number of dungeons and such? In Ocarina of Time there were nine dungeons: Deku Tree, Dodongo's Cavern, Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly, the Forest Temple, the Fire Temple, the Water Temple, the Shadow Temple, the Spirit Temple, and Ganon's Castle. Majora's Mask seemed much too short.
I am hoping that there is more to it than just collecting those 3 fused shadow things.

Did anyone else find the water temple really hard? I'm so glad to be out of there.

I just finished the Fire Temple today. Water Temples are alway fucking hard; I hated the one in Ocarina of time.

God, was that the one where to get to the boss's chamber you had to run up that slope with the three sliding blade traps? That bit was EVIL. You had to be standing in exactly the right place and time it exactly right.
I'm off-topic now. Sorry.

I don't remember, but I always hate the Water Temples in Zelda games. All that raising and lowering of the water levels!

This one's more logical than previous ones. I read someone describe it as like being a big washing machine.

That shadow bint has told me I only have one fused shadow thing to do and that will get rid of all the twilight in Hyrule. Surely I can't have almost finished the game already?

Yep, thats it I'm afriad. Nah only joking. I'm two temples on from that point and looks like a good few more to do. Plus theres loads on the map I haven't seen or visited yet.

Good, so it means I only have one more tedious bit being the fucking wolf.
I don't like Colin! He so obviously fancies Link.

Doesn't everyone? Or should I not be admitting my attraction to grown-up Link from Ocarina of Time?

Gosh I haven't been here for ages, but wanted to see what people were saying about the Wii and Zelda. I'm loving Twilight Princess... I'm on the Temple of Time at the moment. My top 10 so far: 1. The spinner! The fight with the boss using the spinner is very satisfying. Although I think I would have liked a spinner maze that was bloody difficult to work out cos you're moving so fast 2. The water temple - at least this time it wasn't boots on to sink, boots off to rise, boots on to sink, boots off to rise ad nauseum. I loved the magnets - very clever 3. Ganondorf being sucked into the Twilight Mirror - it was a cutscene but I gasped at the beauty 4. Blizzeta - a fantastic boss announcing its arrival. 5. Topless Link! Corrrrr... 6. Howling at the moon. Wooo....Woooo....Wooo (that's the Zelda lullaby in case you're wondering) 7. Point and press - it's so much easier than using the joystick thingy 8. The puzzles in Snowpeak Mountain - I was very satisfied when I eventually worked out the cannons thing 9. The puzzles in Arbiter's Grounds - again, very satisfied when I'd eventually worked out the turning combinations on the statues etc. 10. Zant - he's also quite sexy I find. Maybe that's cos I haven't yet seen his face...
I'm not liking: 1. Colin That is all
Hearts to you all.

Yesterday I got as far as the water temple, as in I entered it. I have decided that to permanently have link in the Zora Amour even on land - blue is the new black darlings.

I finished the 'Sand' Temple. I went to the snowy bit and found Aleesha, or whatever she's called, who gave me a drawing to show people. It seems I have to find Prince Ralis. Where would he be?

He's got a secret hideout at the back of the graveyard where he hangs around moaning that he's not a patch on his dead Ma
He'd be right too

The Zora look much uglier than before. They have proper fish heads now. Do we think that Ganandorf is Zant?

I got it with my Wii on the release date, and I'm up to about halfway through the Forest Temple. I don't know why it's not drawing me in for mammoth sessions like the others did. It might be because I have a weird thing with the wireless controller that means I can't play for long for fear of losing power (even though I know I have a conveyor belt of AA's) or maybe the big spiders give me the heebie jeebies.

Yes, I don't sit on it for hours like I did with the other Zelda games. I think it's because I am older now, and also have much more other stuff to keep me distracted.

the big spiders give me the heebie jeebies. Big spiders in video games always give me the heebie jeebies. I wish they'd stop putting them in. Anyway, I'm quite excited because I finally got a Wii at the wiikend (sorry) and have started playing this. So far I have wrenched my shoulder trying to catch a fish, and got a slingshot and a sword, and I've wrestled a goat. Looking forward to turning into a wolf now.

I have started playing it again and have just got to the Temple of Time to find a mirror shard. I love when it references previous Zelda games, although the Temple of Time does get grander with every installment.
