uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jX2QA_85GJkuk.youtube.com/watch?v=2gy5yX6vmxEI love the fact they've turned this into a piss take. It looks fantastic. Originally it was to have Jane Krakowski in the Olivia role but she dropped out. I think she might have been a bit old for it to be honest. It's rumoured to be coming to London so can't wait. I was alarmed to see the male lead wearing an outfit I wore 12 yrs ago when I was in Australia (although I didn't have the head band), but then you can't really wear rollerboots and not wear denim cut offs! Oh, and wouldn't you just love to punch that self righteous news anchor at the end of the clip?

I watched the first one and just assumed that the Not Olivia Newton John lady was doing a comedy take on the Australian accent, but then on the second one she's teaching the reporter to do it as if it's a proper accent. So I'm not so sure.
You'd think that someone would tell her that it's utter shite if she's doing it for real. Although they couldn't be american because the amount of times we were asked if we were Australian by yanks when we've been staying over there is second only to the amount of times we've been asked if we know David Beckham or Wayne Rooney once they find out we're English.
ALSO: Whoopee is presenting The View now?! A UK channel really needs to pick it up.

The whole thing is done as a piss take of the movie, along with the accent. The news team probably didn't get the irony though.
I'm always asked if I'm German when I'm in the States. I think it's the gutteral Glaswegian accent.
You can watch clips from The View everyday on the ABC website.

I see 'Xanadu' is up for Best Musical in the Tony Awards with Kerry Butler nominated as best actress. 'In The Heights' seems to be a popular choice though.
