Today I just failed my Renaissance Literature exam. I forgot most of the quotes, how to paragraph and conclude an essay and am generally very dense. This doesn't bode well for Television Sitcom on Monday afternoon. Hello there third class degree...
Enough about me, how are you all doing in your exams/revision for exams?

Awh, i'm sorry. I did a module like that last year.
I have three exams, 2nd/8th/9th of May. Although I am terrified I am still more worried about my two big courseworks due on this month. I am hideously behind.

Oh dear. For what it's worth I couldn't name any Renaissance Literature whatsover and think it sounds complicated, so I think you should be applauded for getting this far.
I like to think of avoiding work as character building.
I officially have zero motivation and too many essays to be doing for too many deadlines. I have decided writing on this will give me a good break from TV, and thus motivate me to do something else entirely like write an essay. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not hopeful.

My worst uni module result was 12% in Galois Theory. That was fun. Of course, I'm over that now...

On Monday I handed in an outrageously shit essay about Victorian society that I just couldn't get into, and it's worth 100% of that module so that's at least one failure. I've got three more essays to hand in, a presentation and a two hour exam all in the next couple of weeks and I can't say I haven't made any real progression with any of them.

I have a 4000-5000 word dissertation on 'the prison system fails to meet the needs of women' due in tomorrow (though I will hand it in on Monday) that I've written 500 words of, along with a 6 page essay also for Monday on 'the reasons why appeasement failed in the run up to WW2" and I've got to learn a load of shit about two paintings I've not even looked at yet.
I don't HAVE to do them, they won't have a bearing on my life really, as I've got an unconditional for uni, but if I want to have my last month ever at school (and I do) then I've really got to do them. Argh.

I put myself on a going out ban during April while I do my final projects in three of my modules (worth 50% each) and have my entire dissertation to write. It lasted until April 2nd. Oops.

My dissertation is due in a week - I'm only just finishing the last 1000 words on it. I'm sure it doesn't make any sense as it's a story. The starts really good and then you can just tell where I gave up for about 2 months and picked it up again in the past few weeks.

I'm looking at a probable failure for Russian, given that I haven't been able to get myself to the class without freaking out for quite some time. I've forgotten what I used to know; I have a Slavonic Grammar exam on Monday so I'm trying to learn every single Russian case and a fair amount of other stuff. I've spent all weekend putting this off but have just spent a couple of hours learning most of the cases, and I feel quite a bit better than I have for a while. Fingers crossed.

UPDATE TIME:
I have a 2:1, but I'm worried that since my terrible dissertation and a really good exam module are the only modules up just now that the mark'll gradually get lower. Er, zomg?

Still, it could be worse, you could be like the student I just marked who said sometimes people use the terms gay and lesbian for people who aren't even heterosexual.

By some miracle I managed to pass Russian! I just got my result. It's not a great pass but I don't care! The written exam was such a disaster I was convinced I would have to resit and have had the nightmare scenario of having to resit, failing and then not getting into Honours at all. I need never be tested on Russian ever again! I can't believe it.
I'm not proud of myself, I made a stupid mistake (letting myself get phobic about it),I've been constantly miserable over this since January, which very nearly fucked my relationship as well, so to not have it hanging over my head feels....unbelievable. Yay! Should I be proud of myself for passing or thanking every possible deity? Currently I'm doing a combination of both.

Molodets, francopopfillichka!
They're always lenient with Russian marking, teachers and examiners never have high hopes.

Spasiba bolshoi! Robbing, is there a Russian idiom meaning "good luck" that goes something like "no feathers, no fluff?" I got sent something similar in an email but have forgotten it. If you have any idea what I'm on about, could you post it in Russian for me? (cyrillic or transliteration, I don't know if LC will allow non-roman posting).
Cheers!

It's: ni pukh, ni pera. (neither fluff, nor feathers) And in response you are supposed to say: k chyortu! (to the devil!) Someone told me the origins of the phrase, but I probably wasn't listening.

Yeah, I know, I just wasn't sure how to type the right ending phonetically. I was going to go for "oe".*embarrassed*. They discouraged us from trying to transliterate, in my (weak) defence... That is one bizarre idiom. Feathers and devils? I don't understand Russian culture much.

Well transliteration is not a phonetic representation, rather a representation of the original Cyrillic spelling.

On a slightly less academic scale I struggled with one of my 612 German papers!
