See what I etc.
How excited are we about this? Or: how worried are we about this?
I'm watching the original for the first time just now. Anthony Andrews's grin makes me go all funny inside. I can't wait to see Ben Whishaw give it his best shot.

I've just seen this. I'm happy to report Ben Wishaw's grin also makes me go all funny inside. I also fancy him much too much when he's ill in Morocco Lovely, lovely Ben Wishaw. Both boys made me want to give up eating altogether though, they're scarily thin.

has it been released in europe first or something? I heard it had been pushed back in the UK...i've seen some stills from it with La Wishaw in red silk pyjamas and bare feet.

I got to see a preview, as I have to write about it for a magazine.

How was Emma Thompson? Was her performance Best Supporting Actress nominee worthy?

This worries me greatly, I adore the book and the TV adaptation and I just can't help but think there's no way to do the story justice in a feature length film. I've heard that the Charles/Sebastian story gets lost in favour of the Charles/Julia one, which seems to rather defeat the point. The only thing that gives me comfort is that the makers have stuck to an English cast, rather than just getting bankable but useless Amercians.

Fear not. If anything, the Charles/Sebastian story is bigger, or at least more explicit. There's a kiss!
