IIC-care to explain that comment? No, actually, they can't. Goodbye. Come on guys, it was a joke, and Rad, that came across particularly schoolmarmish. It really did, didn't it, sorry. I'd just had my car nicked, it wasn't a good day.

I am thrilled to be back!
Can I just apologise whole heartedly for telling Low Culture rules to swivel. It was meant as nothing more than a joke, and I hope I can be welcomed back to the sizable bosom of the Low Culture family.

So I was watching Barefoot Contessa this evening, and I swear the continuity announcer said "Now on UKTV Food, Bear-Fucking Tessa".
I had to rewind a few times to make sure, and he definitely said it. Admittedly, it's the kind of prank I'd like to pull if I worked in On Air, but it's perhaps a tad risky given the current climate. And more importantly, what would Ina say?!

EVERY time I watch the Barefoot Contessa I think of this thread and Audrey and her "urbs".

I love that she thinks she invented Victoria sponges. Between her and Paula Deen, I could watch nothing but the Food Network for days on end.
