That picture already tells me they've got it wrong.

I can't quite get how this will work: isn't the whole point that the series is *very* Australian?

Bewildering

I don't get how it can work without it being Australian.

Oh Molly Shannon, you're capable of so much better... Selma Blair, not so much.

I cannot fathom how this will work on any level. Aside from the Australianness (or lack of) pointed out by Rad, they've automatically deprived themselves of any 'fat' references or storylines by casting Selma Blair as Kim. Or is she supposed to be fat, like, in Hollywood terms?
I'm very intrigued to see it though. Who knows, it might take on a whole new personality of its own, sorta like the US Office.

I really can't see this working. As everyone has already noted, its just so totally Australian and not just because its set there. The type of humour in K&K is very distinctly Australian. I'm not sure I can put it in to words too well, but I guess I mean the OTT, camp, colourful characters who remain just the right side of caricature (very much in the Dame Edna tradition).

I want to know who is playing Sharon...

She isn't even called Sharon!
She's going to be called Heather, and is as yet uncast

From Wikipedia: "Riley and Turner will act as the executive producers for the series (...)"
Who knows, this might just work. I have a lot of time for Molly Shannon, anyway.

Christ, that was painful. It reminded me of that Matt Lucas/David Walliams sketch, where they did a US version of Only Fools & Horses, named Only Jerks & Horses.
Do NBC really think Americans are so dumb that they won't 'get' something Australian? Why they couldn't just air the original version is beyond me.

I'm worried they might remake Summer Heights High.

There's nowt wrong with that. Yes it'll be a little weird and it won't be as good as the original (especially if you've watched it religiously), but it still looks better than most new american sitcoms.

I think the Scale Of Wrong just broke. My prediction: this show will be O-V-A-H before it even gets to a full season.

Is this a joke? Kim is supposed to be a fat cow. Selma Blair is not a fat cow. It looks terminally unfunny. It won't make it past the second show.

So huge Australia only showed 2 episodes! John Michael Higgins was his usual ace self, though.
