Worst. Ad. Ever. It is watch from behind the sofa cringeworthy.

It has made me hate the song more (something I had hitherto thought impossible)

Completely agree, it's everything I dislike in an advert.

I have my suspicions that this advert was made as part of a task for the next series of The Apprentice.

If there's two things worse than DFS ads it's air guitar and Nickelback.
The three combined are eye-and-ear-bleedingly hideous.

Every time I see this ad it seems to get worse. I just lose faith in the entire human race when it comes on. There are so many terrible aspects to it. The shit song, shit actors, shit sofas, shit "message" (that rock stars have nice sofas?) all add up to a greater amount of shit than the sum of their shitty parts. A Gestalt of Advertising Shit.

I just don't get it.
The only thing that ties in with the god-awful song is the bit at the end where they say the DFS sale "rocks". What is the point?!?!

Mass-produced furniture is the new rock 'n' roll, probably. As Nickelback are probably the best band in history, DFS have conveyed this image well.

I absolutely loathe the song and don't understand why it got such heavy radio play. The worst parts are the "so tell me what you want" speaky bits.

I know that times are hard and friends are few, but really, would it really have broken the bank to put the people actually next to the sofas rather than a catalogue picture?

This advert does indeed combine three of the most irredeemable things in the World ever (excluding poverty, hunger, war, etc, obviously). However it does have one redeemable feature - if I'm not mistaken, one of the air guitar-ers is the fabulous Mrs Moore from Doctor Who (the series 2, alt universe, cybermen episodes), who also starred in Gavin & Stacy as the jobs-worth Severn Bridge toll booth attendant. If the actress is making some decent money from it, I think I can just about live with this terrible ad.

It makes me cry inside every time I see it. Truly, it is the most horrendous thing I have laid eyes on.
