Enjoyed today's episode.
Sadly, there was not a lot of Tyrion scenes. Thought the scenes with Catelyn talking about Jon and the Tyrell's Joffrey discussion were good. Love the Jaime scenes.
Also, briefly shirtless Joffrey!! What this show needs is more Merlin style slashiness and shirtlessness.
Queen Daenerys and her dragons will be back next week. Hooray!

I'm still utterly pissed at Virgin Media that I'm having to view this series VIA OTHER ENTIRELY LEGAL MEANS. But it's worth it.
The first episode turned me off slightly - it all felt very convoluted, and a lot more Games Workshoppy than I remember. The second was much, much better. Like you said, the Catelyn stuff about Jon was really interesting, and I loved the women gossiping about Joffrey in the garden. Natalie Dormer is a great addition to the cast.
An even better addition is Iwan Rheon. Oh yes. (The same can't be said of that dead-eyed girl from Hollyoaks. What was her Hollyoaks nickname round these parts? Did it relate to her complete inability to deliver a line with any kind of emotion, by any chance?)

Speak And Spell, wasn't it? I've not seen Game Of Thrones (I'm on Virgin Media as well) so I can't comment on her acting in this, but I had hoped that her turn on Hollyoaks wasn't representative of her abilities as a whole, because I seem to remember she was reasonably good on Misfits as the girl who liked it up the chuff.

'Speak & Spell' would definitely make sense. Bear in mind, everything I know about Hollyoaks is via a Lowculture filter. I probably recognised her from some of the legendary LOLyoaks images than the show itself. All I knew is that she definitely wasn't Slabface, and probably wasn't The What's Going On Mum.
I'm really enjoying the weird cameos that Game of Thrones throws up. This week's - even weirder than her out of Hollyoaks - was Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol.

I didn't spot him, probably because I don't know what he looks like, but when did rapey Owen join the night's watch?

Please can Charles Dance and Diana Rigg have more scenes together? That was awesome.
Actually felt sorry for Cersei in this episode. Don't know what's wrong with me.
Boo Littlefinger!! I love how I end up hating different people every season.

Boo Littlefinger indeed. I've hated him since Day One. That may be more to do with the fact Aiden Gillan is the single worst actor in the history of scripted drama. He's a fucking embarrassment to watch.
I'm getting a bit bored of the Theon stuff. Unless they're going to reveal why he's being tortured, or who Iwan Rheon is (aside from being my future husband, I mean), then they should just skip past it and return to that thread when something's actually going to happen.
Diana Rigg is the best thing about Game of Thrones at the moment. Every scene she's in is a joy to watch.

I'm never sure if Aiden G can actually act or not. Ever since he was in Queer as Folk. But people raved about him in The Tempest for example. Anyhoo I thought this speech from him was amazing and actually starts to draw out the differences between him and Varys.

I enjoyed last weeks episode. My love for Joffrey and Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains, Adder of Titles to Her Name grows weekly.
It was nice to see Jaime has a heart. And naked King Robb had my heart skipping beats.

I don't know his name but the welder boy who turns out to be the son of the dead king, sold to the red haired witch lady, was liplickingly delicious tied down to the bed and sucked against his will.
And Daenerys Tagaryen, Mother of Dragons, Breaker Of Chains, Adder Of Titles To Her Name's new suitor is quite nice, although the muscle queen he decapitated (not Ferdy from This Life) looks like he'd give a better show on Cam4.
Did Fat Wall Boy with his grooming ring companion drop the mysterical blade after killing the zombie? And was the zombie part of his former troop? The tall guy with the white hair?
Diana Rigg's attempt to understand her grandchildren's new family arrangements was great. I'd love to see her try with Eastenders characters.

Every episode, I look forward to Diana Rigg's scenes. She's outstanding. I was going through the whole "so she'll be her mother-in-law AND sister-in-law" thing in my head anyway, but she did it far better.
I'm not sure about Daenerys Tagaryen, Mother of Dragons, Breaker Of Chains, Adder Of Titles To Her Name's new fella. He looks liek Kryten from Red Dwarf with a cheap weave. But I like the idea of seeing her happy - the bit where she mentioned Khal Drogo, even though it was brief, was really sad.
I did wonder about Samwell dropping his dagger thing - from what I could tell, he left it behind.
Really glad they didn't visit Theon Greyjoy and his lack of cock this week. Even with Iwan Rheon, those scenes are so frustrating and slow-moving.

Didn't they unearth loads of those daggers? So Sam has a stash of the things?

la la la - Sticks fingers in ears
Although I haven't seen any of series 3 yet I have read the books so it isn't really spoilers and I'm looking forward to the red wedding on screen.
Book three (which is in two massive volumns) is my favourite book(s) of the series. HBO have done a good job so far but I fear they may lose people because the multiple plot strads do tend to meander somewhat as the books go on.
I look forward to Diana Rigg as the Queen of Thorns, and can't wait to see Joffrey's wedding.

Didn't they unearth loads of those daggers? So Sam has a stash of the things? Think he only had the one dagger, which only makes Sam more stupid. Wow, Episode 9 strikes again!! First, we lose Sean Bean, then we have the Battle of Blackwater and now this. Really enjoyed the episode. Poor Arya, things don't go her way, do they? At least she has the Hound. Ygritte should have known better, Jon always said he was loyal to the Watch. Daenerys Tagaryen, Mother of Dragons, Breaker Of Chains, Adder Of Titles To Her Name's victory filled my heart with joy. ......And that was sadly smashed by the ending. Poor Robb, he was too good for Westeros' world. To cap it off, Sansa is still alive. There is no justice.

I was more upset when the wolf got killed than any of the Starks.
Due to having an east facing bedroom, I'm often awake at 6am most mornings now, so I may try to watch the season finale before I go to work tomorrow, rather than wait until I get home.
What's his name, the bug eyed lanky one from The Office and Pirates of the Caribbean, when he was killed did his spirit transfer into that eagle thing that attacked Jon Snow on a permanent basis?

Oh dear. Well it wasn't going to top last week but that fell a little flat for me. Just annoying that the climax was "Mavis-of-the-many-names" still fighting the battle between the kings which the episode has now established is essentially pointless as the walkers are coming.
And the arrival of the walkers was the series cliffhanger LAST time. Frankly it feels like we've just gone in circles.
Even more annoyingly since "Mavis-of-the-many-names" is the only one with dragons, she's the only one who can make dragon glass to defeat said walkers. Throw in the inevitable massive battle against the walkers preceded by the crowd pleasing death of Joffrey and that's the next season surely?
(Haven't read the books, am hoping I am massively wrong)

I know what you mean about the endings to this and the last series although I haven't read the books either, so I assume the source material is part of the reason. This series has been really good, I think the best of the three. I had to watch the whole lot (except ep 10) in one go last week because I was so afraid of seeing the ep 9 spoilers after hearing that big things had happened. I echo the comments on Diana Rigg and Charles Dance. The Joffrey/Tywin relationship fascinates me as well.

Loved Joffrey getting sent to bed! It was the best part of the episode really. I think they're moving more away from the source material, than in the last 2 series. Having said that, I did read the books back to back so I can't remember what happened in which any more. There's so much guff in them too.

My life now feels empty without Game of Thrones.
Enjoyed the episode. Arya is becoming the best character in the show. Long may she continue!
Hooray for Bran and co. getting something interesting to do next series!
