During Lisa's Clamhidia storyline, Zara sternly told her "the pill only protects against pregnancy, not STI's". If Lisa is the thickest person alive and didn't know this already, in order to go on the pill she would have been told... I cannot believe this, do they think we're 11 years old?

Don't you just love the way 'Oaks' lectures to the viewers. During Lisa's Clamhidia storyline, Zara sternly told her "the pill only protects against pregnancy, not STI's". Not only is the line straight from a sex education lesson, or a sexual health leaflet, the way she says it is as if she is saying it to you. In the same episode we had Sam lecturing Russel on his ball lump, telling him he should go and see the doctor about it. I love Hollyoaks because it patronises me. The stuff about 'Then why find out?', 'Well, it can cause all sorts of long term problems was particularly awful i thought

No, embarrassing is having the doctor finger your arse. For no apparent reason. At 16. With you parents peering through the curtain.

The Comic relief thing was good.

The Comic relief thing was good. Sorry, was that Comic Relief you were talking about? You didn't make it clear enough by not saying the words twice every sentence.

It annoys me that they've kept Dannii and got rid of Bella, because clearly they're the same character/actress, but with the one difference that Bella was interesting, and Danni isn't. As an occassional Hollyoaks viewer, this really confused me at first - I thought it was the same girl, whose "terrible secret" was that she tried to talk slightly less poshly when not in her flat. I'd like Ali to stay, though, as I fancy him.

Can someone please explain something to me about the Owens please? When they first arrived in Hollyoaks, the one who isn't currently enjoying a testicular cancer storyline was called, and I would stake my reputation on this, Liam. Now he appears to be called Sam. Why is this?

Why is this? Because they changed their names after he burnt some child except he didn't do it but then decided he wasn't going to live in shame for something he never even did to begin with. Or something equally logical.

See, I wondered if it might have something to do with that, but none of the other ones have changed their names, and even his family used to call him Liam. That just struck me as weird.
Oh well. Thanks for clearing it up!

Thanks for clearing it up! I'm presuming that's sarcasm. The workings of Phil Redmond's mind will never be clear and understanandable.

It wasn't sarcasm, actually. I was attempting to be grateful for your attempt to, as you say, understand the bizarre workings of Phil Redmond's mind. Perhaps I'm a little out of practice...

In which case I accept your thanks wholeheartedly and wonder if you return the favour by explaining why Becca took Jake back even though he fucked Lisa and gave her an STD, when it would have been much more entertaining had she seduced Justin over some Ted Hughes revision and used her affair with the young tearaway to punish Jake's infidelity, before it all fucking up and her going off the deep end and leaving Hollyoaks village in flames*?
This is the man who brought West Nile virus to Liverpool. We deserve something more.
*Mandy obviously dies in the fire. And Ben.

Yes! I was fully expecting (somehow, someway) to get some naked Justin out of this whole sorry Becca/Jake yawnfest. Why on earth would Becca take Jake back when she has every teacher's dream student lusting after her? Why why why?
Becca leaves soon, right? I'm sure I didn't imagine reading that. I really hope she takes Jake with her.

That would have to be one big fire. Lynn should obviously get a serious and absoloutely terrible disease and beg to die, but Steph tells her she won't because she knows Lynn doesn't really want it, so then she crawls over to Susans with a pillow between her teeth, but Susan is having unmarried sex with a younger man so doesn't hear Lynn's knocking, and they discover her corpse, twisted in painful contortions on Susan's doorstep the next day. Then they mince her and feed her to Bob. Her vomits her up because she's too bitter. But that belongs in another thread.

Isn't Zara due to get raped? Seriously? That would make three in four of the Morgan children... ... she is way too awesome to let anyone do that to her.
