I had a serious DVT four years ago. I was (apparently) 3 hours away from being kaput. Luckily, I got to the hospital in time and although I had a pulmonary embolism (the clot got into my lung), I managed to pull through. Which was nice. It meant I couldn't drink for 6 months while I was on medication, though. |

Does anyone know how common blood clots are? And how more likely you are to get them when on the contraceptive pill for a large amount of time? I heard there was more likelihood of them happening then.
