awwww do i miss that show - the crap sets, the fact that every woman scorned turned into a psycho, Mason Capwell (mark I, II and III), Julia Wainright (I even took a crap photo of the dutch subtitles that went "and mason was acting like a cross between God and Albert Schweizer" class)
They aired it in Holland for a while but since I was the only viewer they took it off before it ended. (still hurts) I even complained but never got me show back. Then I went to the American bookstore and they had brookside annuals but no SB (which died in 93).
anybody else seen it? don't know if it was on in britain but with all your dishes and freeview who the fuck knows WHAT's on?

My mum was obsessed with that show. I was only about 6 at the time, I think, but she has told me many tales about "earthquakes" that involved shaking the camera about a bit and throwing branches onto the set. I wanna see it!

It was on in Ireland too!
I was a teenage obsessive.
That stupid blond child - I still quote him today.
"Uncle CC, Uncle CC...I mean! Daddy!" (Or Daaaaaaaaahh-dy!)
God I loved it so.
Robin Wright Penn was in it, she was a simpering annoying girl. There was another blonde one (married to CC) who had affairs with Mason (or hated him, or something). She was excellent. She was my icon.

I used to truant from school and used to watch this.
I remember when Robin Wright started becoming more famous and thinking "It's her from Santa Barbara!"
I remember the Carnation Killer plot too and a woman who was meant to be dead but was coming back to Santa Barbara on a train (the train journey took several episodes) and I have a recollection of her trying a false beard on (although now I think of it I wonder if this was Alyson Carr's return in Sons & Daughters).
And did the credits go so quickly you never got to see who played who unless you videoed it and watched it on slowmo?
