Did anyone see last night's Corrie boxing match?
Yana: Let's go stand with that lot. Cilla: But they're with Mad Dog Maddocks. Yana: I know, but look at 'em! Cilla: What? Big, brainless, sausage fingered bruisers Yana: I know! Perfect! We could pull 'ere. Come on!
and off they totter like a chav Edina and Patsy. Marvellous.

Ugh. I thought last night's episode was terrible. It was a rubbish, pointless 'comedy' episode of the type that Eastenders does occasionally. The whole boxing styoryline has been ridiculous. The only thing that made it bearable is the fact that some of the characters are so strong that they are watchable no matter what the scriptwriters and producers throw at them.

The Riot Police were a bit over the top. And this never happened... But Sally was still great. Liking wrestling and she did do a little bit of fighting.

Re: this episode which I didn't see. I presume Tim the Vet is a Vet for Homosexuals, oui? But, then, what kind of homosexual drives a car like this? -A

I wasn't quite sure about it at first, but I'm quite warming to Sean and Tim The Vet - they make quite a cute couple. I think I even sensed some chemistry - they're a fair way from Scott and Charlene, mind, but it's a good start. Chemistry between gay characters in a soap is practically unheard of.
I also like the fact that Sean had to ask Violet what "euphemism" meant. If we do our six (or somewhat fewer) degrees of soaparation here, Violet was taught English by Ken Barlow at school, which probably means that he was the one who taught her the meaning of that word, which in effect means that Ken has basically enabled Sean to get laid with the hunky vet this evening. That's either quite funny or slightly disturbing, depending on your viewpoint.

I really enjoyed the dialogue in Coronation Street last night. Am I right in thinking the Jonathan Harvey who scripted is he of Gimme Gimme Gimme / Beautiful Thing? In some of the comedy scenes, you could sense a hint of the Lynda / Tom relationship-humour coming through.
I liked how Tim patted the seat like a dog for Sean to sit down. (I'm not sure what this says about me.) And I can definitely sense chemistry there - Anthony Cotton would have to blind not to have chemistry with that fine actor (he doesn't need a name yet).

I really enjoyed the dialogue in Coronation Street last night. Am I right in thinking the Jonathan Harvey who scripted is he of Gimme Gimme Gimme / Beautiful Thing? It is him. I know a homosexualist who drives a car like Tim's. In fact he's called Tim as well. Maybe it's just something about Tims who bum. Cilla and Yana are fabulous. Cilla works much better as a character when she has someone apart from Les to bounce off who doesn't think she's a hateful little scrubber.
