GMTV said Honor Blackman would be in Monday's Corrie.
Lies.

I have been an Honor fan for many years and one of my prize possessions is Honor's 1960 something album 'Everything I've Got' so a couple of weeks ago when she was hosting a Bond night in Glasgow I decided I'd ask if she'd autograph it for me - something I normally wouldn't dream of doing.
I thought it better to catch her before the show when she wouldn't be so tired. Waited about 3/4 of an hour, (along with a guy who had come down from Perth), when Honor appeared - I think she was staying at Langs Hotel as she had to cross at the lights with all the commuters, in a gold satin dress. As there were only 2 of us I thought she would be quite happy to say hello for a second. Instead she closed her eyes and kept repeating 'Please don't stop me, please don't stop me' until she got in the stage door. Her young companion - her son possibly - looked embarrassed and said 'maybe she'll sign after the performance.' It was impossible for me to go back at 10.30 (and the guy from Perth couldn't stay as his last bus went before then) so that was that. I was rather disappointed especially as the previous weekend she'd given an interview lamenting the demise of the 'stage door johnny' and I do wonder how many fans turn up these days to meet her.

I met her (well, served her) a few years ago at work. She was a right mardy cow then, too.
She was huffing and puffing that people were bothering her. I think one person had asked for an autograph.

But still the question -- where was Honor?

Wasn't it only an announcement on Monday that she had joined the cast and would be seen soon?
There's nothing on the Corrie site to say when she'd be on screen.

I misunderstand everything.
It was GMTV and therefore early.
It's still exciting though, I hope she sticks around. Corrie's always been great at stuntcasting.

Odd to think that while Ena Sharples et al were drinking their milk stouts in the snug, our Honor was leaping around in a black catsuit with Steed.

According to this week's Inside Soap (stop sniggering at the back), her character will be called Rula Romanov, and she'll be an old acquaintance of Rita's from her cabaret-singer days who sets her cap at Norris.
I like the sound of this.

I can just imagine Blanche's face when she finds out Honor's after Norris as well. Especially given the nancy boy banter she has with him over the news stands.
Norris the heatrbreaker. It's enough to bring tears to one's eyes.

Wasn't Norris married to 'Angela' - Derek Wilton's first wife? They should bring her back to stir things up in the Kabin.

I don't think stirrings going to be an issue at the Kabin - Rula and her husband turn out to be swingers, that want a bit of Norris and Rita! And they very nearly get it until they both realise what's going on - thats coming up within the next fortnight. Knowing Corrie, it should be a very funny affair!

Where, oh where, did she get that accent from? I know she used to be a Bond girl, but that's no excuse for getting voice coaching from Ernst Blofeld.
Quite looking forward to the Swingers storyline though. I can just imagine Norris' face when Honor comes into the lounge in a rubber basque or something, crooning "How about it, loverboy?"
Emily Bishop will be amused.

Nevermind Honor, she was a bit of a disappointment after all that wait.
The best thing about last night's episodes was Tracey talking to Amy in the dark -- very Rebecca De Mornay and very, very funny.
Daddy almost came home Amy... it's only a matter of time. I know it, you know it and he knows it.

Oh yes, indeed
The Bitch is Back!!
Not the most subtle of creatures is she, that Tracey? She'll be high kicking on the bar in the Rover's miming to I Put A Spell On You next.
Is anyone else not loving Karen with a K (for Konscience - sic)? She was far more fun when she was saying "Steve" in exactly the same way that Liz used to use to Jim in the early years of the McDonalds.

The bitch is back, underline, underline, exclaimation mark, exclaimation mark. I do like the way she's using Amy to get Steve, when she blatently couldn't care less as to whether or not Amy's in safe hands -- dumping her on her Nan or the Croppers whenever she, for example, needs an emergency manicure. I like that we're not subjected to sledgehammer subtle and preach-y She's-A-Bad-Mum stuff.
I think last night we saw the back of Karen with a K and the Karen who calls Steve baybay when she wants something will be making a welcome return. She is leaving for good though, which is a pity. I understand actors wanting to spread their thespian wings a little, but Karen has the potential to be a classic soap character, something she hasn't quite achieved yet.

No, but she probably has achieved a deal for a starring, possibly title role, in the ITV 'Eeny-Meeny-Miney-Mo-Catch-A-Serial-Killer/Paedophile/Rapist-By-The-Toe' Drama Premier of her choice.
She's probably got designs on being the brunette Tamzin Ouzthwaite ('cause let's face it, she hasn't the cheekbones to be Ross Kemp). But I am sad to see her go, as now we won't see her become more like Liz with each passing day.
You never know, though, she might come back.

Hmm not sure about Dougie Brown as Honor's swinging partner. Incidentally, he's the brother of Lynn Perrie who played the Street's Ivy Tilsley.
*Off topic but did anyone see her on Five's '50 most embarrassing moments' giving some stripper a blow job? More disturbing than this week's Six Feet Under!*
