Did I see Ulrika in the audience of You're Fired? Didn't she just give birth the other day? If so - look our Kerry Katona, Ulrika is after your mother of the year crown. Do you think there would be any raised eyebrows if Mr Ulrika was spotted in a TV audience?

Alan is so wonderfully consistent when it comes to hiring the second best out of the final two. Four years it's been now. It was not as big a travesty as last year and the year before, but only because neither were that amazing this year. That said, this is all my opinion and I am quite broke and unemployed, yet he is very rich and the boss of many. Yet still I think I'm right. You're Fired: Amanda Platell??? What. The. Fuck. Was Michelle Moan busy or something. Maybe they just realised that Moan is possibly the most dreadful woman in the world. EVIL HAG.

I came second in the sweepie which is my best result in the history of all sweepies I have been involved in.
I liked both the final 2 and I think we can assume from al the 'you'll be OK, I'm not worried about you' directed to Claire on You're Fired, that she won't be in the dole queue come Monday morning.
I loved (drunk?) Lucinda on YF too but I don't think getting drawn into an arguement did her or Helene any favours at all. In fact it put me in mind of the boardroom scenes from very early on in the series.

Sod the final, surely I wasn't the only one who watched all of You're Fired and then 25 minutes of You're Hired just because I thought it was Maggie Philbin sat behin Rafe?
And boy was I glad when it was shown that it was and that she was sitting next to Sarah Greene and Mike Smith - far more exciting than the actual programme.

Well that is that then. Can't say this series thrilled me to be honest.
The pros: Sralan, Nick and Margaret were all on top form this year. Some of the best moments and quotes came from them. If the series is sticking with Sralan, they better keep Nick and Marge.
I quite liked the four finalists idea, it made it really unpredictable as to who would win it.
Cons: The tasks were very hit and miss - some were great, others were terrible. Much like Big Brother, some seem to be done for novelty value rather than anything constructive.
The interview section has gone from being quite a thrilling episode to just four people being arseholes to contestants. No one would ever talk to you like that in an interview, it's the X Factor all over again.
Sralan was inconsistent in his policy to giving people chances and firing others. The Michael saga was a prime example of this.
The overall quality of contestants was poor. Maybe it was the plan all along, but not very likable people without much skill set doesn't really make for good contestants or workers.

Sorry, but VICTORIA WOOD (!!!) on You're Hired/Fired was brilliant, especially when she pwned Alex.
I did get very excited at the climax, and did say "Oh My God" at the top of my voice, even though I was watching alone.
Oh and Kevin was awesomely good value, especially with his vision for the modern man - a high street bank manager from Leeds.

Victoria Wood was truly ace. It was such a nice surprise to see her - she really isn't around enough these days.
I guess Lee wasn't a totally undeserving winner, him or Claire would have been a far better candidate than Alex or Helene. Still, in my head, Lucinda won the show, led a mutiny against Sralan, and became Prime Minister.
Oh, and the schadenfreude was practically dripping off me when Alex was crying in the taxi. I really should have felt some degree of guilt for the amount of enjoyment that gave me.

Last year, it was the first year I'd watched it, I was certain he'd hire Kristina because she was so much better. This year, I was certain he'd hire Lee, because Claire is so much better.

With the loss of karma, I feel it is safe enough to say that I felt THE pang of sympathy. I'm hoping it was in a "you're so pathetic!" kind of way. Annoyed my sweepy Sara wasn't involved in the final task, and possibly tossed her hair (very pretty pretty hair) at it ala Lucinda. NEW HAIRCUT! BERET INDOORS! very nice. As for the final show which I initially very meh about.... It was a better task than I expected and I enjoyed watching it all (especially Kevin's "I need to put some of my personality into them!" comment) I'm glad it wasn't Alex or Kit Kat eyes who won. I think the real test of which way I wanted it to go came when Lee was announced the winner because my first words were "poor Claire". So I think I really wanted Claire to win in the end. Hopefully she will become a new Badger.

At the last minute I realised I wanted Claire to win because she'd been on a Real Journey. I then realised I'd become everything I ever hated.
[political satire] Surely the last few months have demonstrated that the last thing the country needs is a moody intellectual loner who, whilst being a decent manager and having some good ideas, ultimately winds up everyone they work with to the extent that they want to kick them in the crotch?[/political satire]

I shed a wee tear for the lovely Lee McQueen, who I have decided that I very much fancy... mostly though to see if afterwards he'd roll over and shout 'that's what I'm talkin' about'. I think he'll be a better apprentice than Claire, and she'll have more fun weighing up all her offers anyone.
Claire was saying on the radio this morning that she has a meeting with Karen Brady next week about working for her - this made me happy because I had suspected Karen's "if you don't give her a job, I will" was all for the cameras.
SHOCK HORROR. The BBC website in 'Profiles: Apprentice finalists' states the following: Alex Wotherspoon. Age: 25. 25? ? 25? ?

Did anyone else have a "Life of Brian" moment when Lee started going on about Ryan, I was hoping that their advert would include Biggus Dickus.

I'm so bitterly disappointed in the final night. I had my reservations about four in the final and it just didn't work for me. It made the task feel like any other task, it wasn't big enough and it certainly didn't seem like that big of a challenge. The contestants that came back were terrible, plus it all looked very cheap.
The boardroom was rubbish too. There was NO drama in having the four there, it just seemed like an extended mess. We missed all of Claire picking her fragrance so we could watch Helene and Alex in the boardroom looking confused. Then when it came down to Lee and Claire, I wanted Claire to win but I wasn't too pushed. I suspected he'd pick Lee. A final with Clare and Helene or Claire and Lucinda would have been fantastic and at least you'd have two candidates that were deserving.
I don't dislike Lee, I just don't think he's going to change the business world, which is what I'd be looking for in my Apprentice. He's just a nice lad, with a bit of a temper and an adorable lisp. He also wears socks that are far too short for his legs. That bugged me a lot in the last few weeks.
To top off a rubbish show, BBC Northern Ireland decided to yet again punish me by putting on a show about Northern Irish schools instead of You're Hired which went out here after 11. It wasn't really worth the wait, apart from Victoria Woods comments from the audience. It all seemed like nobody (yet again) really believed in the winner and we were going through the motions. I wanted Lee to playfully punch Sralan on the shoulder and squeeze his balls but none of this happened. Even the "momento" they gave him was crap. And NO Margaret.
I did hear however, and it must have been cut, that at the recording of You're Hired Sralan really laid into Michael and in You're Fired, Lucinda's speech had to be done over and over again because Adrian Chiles (or Chives??) kept interrupting her.
I hope next year the tasks are better and the group are more business like. Apart from Lucinda it felt like George at Asda brand contestants this year with Tesco Value tasks

Well i have been at work for 4 hours and noone has even mentioned the apprentice so i guess it was a flop.
I was frankly quite bored- the show focussed on Alex and Helene the whole time so when it came to the final decision there was nothing really fresh in my mind about either of the 2 finalists. Back to the old format next year me thinks.

Oh and Kevin was awesomely good value, especially with his vision for the modern man - a high street bank manager from Leeds. And wasn't Claire and Lee's target candidate an early 30s man who works in sales? Proper bluesky thinking, that was. I did like the voiceover that said something to the effect of, "after five hours of brainstorming, Helene still has no ideas". Sounds pretty much like every brainstorming session I've ever attended...

I liked Helene's hair on You're Fired. GHD isn't the answer for everyone. Although Claire's was a bit messy (and STILL with the bare upper arms!). That was one of the worst You're Fired panels ever. They just all seemed so bored and completely unfunny. Sorry, I know she's loved a lot here, but I don't find Victoria Wood in the slightest bit funny or likeable. And no tribute-montage to Nick and Margaret!?!?!
There was a lot of rehearsed-sounding "yeah but we're mates really" shit going on. I'm glad Lucinda was showing the hate. Oh Raef how I love thee.
I'm glad Lee won. But only because I pity him. He'll be loyal to the end though. Simon Ambrose did lindeed ook like he was going to cry. Alan was very evasive about what Simon has actually been doing. Wasn't it something like a golf course near an airport?

Yeah, I thought the final was a bit rubbish all round really. It felt totally rushed with 4 people – I can't see why they couldn't do an extended show or something, so we could actually see more than about 20mins of them actually doing the task.
But still: 9 million average, peaking at 9.7m at the end, so I imagine the BBC won't be changing too much for next year.

The re-appearance of the fired candidates was pretty terrible in a number of ways. I didn't like the fact that, of all people, Chinger Jenny was involved and consulted by Alan on the suitability of Lee/Claire... who cares what she thinks?
And the shots of the two Jennifers in the audience really did convince me that they are probably really objectionable, nasty people away from the camera too. Just exactly why were they cheering Helene quite so much when in the interview she referred to everyone else as "15 gobshites"... I was waiting for that to be shown again.

I dunno, I thought that was kind of refreshing in the wake of Amanda Platell screeching on and on about how women are evil bitches who bear grudges and once you cross them they will try to undermine you UNTIL THE END OF TIME, whereas men fight nobly on the field of combat and then shake hands and all drink Pimms together afterwards.
And that is the last time I ever defend Jenny Celery.

I could almost have understood him asking Alex and Claire for their thoughts. That would almost have made some sense. But Chinbint, Rentboy and the one who ironed while under fire in Bosnia??? I really can't think of anyone who's opinions would have been less interesting, or less relevant. (Well, apart from Amanda Twatell, obviously) The final really was a bit of mess. But I won't hear a bad word said against my sweepie: The Maguire was brilliant, and deserved better. Fucking Sophocles.

I definitely felt Apprentice overkill last night once I'd watched both You're Fired! and You're Hired! And it really bothered me that You're Fired! spent ages laying into Helene and making her defend herself, while Alex got away virtually scot-free, even to the extent of having the moment where he stuck a knife in Lucinda's back in the penultimate boardroom included in his "best bits". I don't think they needed more time, I just think they needed to make better use of what they had. But I won't hear a bad word said against my sweepie: The Maguire was brilliant, and deserved better. Fucking Sophocles. I definitely agree with you on that one, though. I thought Maguire came across well on the main show and on You're Fired!. Hers was a definite contender for most unfair firing of the series.

I'm glad I got to the final for the first time ever with a sweepy. I wanted them to bring back scratch and smell TV for the final, but they didn't. They need to have a gimmick like that for series 5. Oh, that and a bit less misogyny, ta.
