"This year there is an enormous selection of different people - lesbians, gays, a Muslim and a transsexual - and opposites don't necessarily attract."
Why blame these people, when the violence was because two straight women came back into the house and one of them antagonised two straight men?
Or am I a bit simple?

Jay's not straight. And I reckon Victor's aggression is all because he refuses to accept that he's gay.
Or I could be joking.

So THAT's the reason why we never saw Vanessa and Nadia's fight. If Nads is pressing charges it will be used as evidence. And maybe that's why Emma is still in the bedsit, because she is staying there until Victor leaves?
In my opinion most of the housemates are to blame for what happened, BUT Victor and Jason continue to talk about nominations, and getting certain people out, which is strictly against the rules, and they've already had one strike each. For that alone they should be chucked out...

Yes. No amount of selective editing could hide the fact that Victor and Jason were acting like brats.
I know it's been said before, but no amount of game-playing will win you the contest -- it goes to a public vote in the end and even if you survive that long, we're not going to vote manipulative uberjocks with more machismo than brains as winners.

I can't believe Jason was still strutting around like a peacock saying how he would have to "up his game plan". He's blown any chance of winning because the mask has slipped and he has revealed his true nature - ie that of a complete prick.

Si, you're dead on. For people who think they're intelligent, Jason and Victor haven't grasped the fact that even if they manage not to get nominated, eventually it'll come down to a public vote - even if it's in the last week and it's between them and one other person.
Having said that, I do kind of see why they're both so narked at Emma and Michelle coming back in - they thought they'd been evicted and were thus unpopular with the public, so they were safe to slag them off.

But they're taking that far too seriously. In fact they're taking everything far too seriously. Victor and the cold showers made me laugh so much, especially when he complained he'd already got the sniffles. Can't he see they're playing a game, and laugh along with them? Surely that would make them more popular than this constant posturing and being angry when Big Brother throw in twists and try to make things interesting. Plus, the way the tasks are going, there'll be about as much prize money left as you can win on the Weakest Link. As the first lot sang in Year One, "It's only a gameshow"

*Puts on Loyd Grossman voice*
"Let's look at the evidence . . ."
BB winners of years past
1) Craig (dog food for brains) 2) Brian (pink candy floss for brains) 3) Kate Lawler (dating Jonathan Woodgate - hardly the mark of an intellectual heavyweight) 4) Cameron (bible classes for brains)
Manipulative people do not win BB. Surely thee 'intelligent' types would have worked it out and kept their mouths shut.
And will 'Jay' wear something other than that fucking dressing gown please!

But don't you think if you were truly intelligent, you'd be able to play them all and still remain popular in the house? Maybe playing them isn't the right word -- if you really understood how Big Brother works and were also pretty genuine, then it would be easy to manipulate yourself into the final four.

I think that's what Dan's trying to do, and I think he'll succeed. Surely the rest of the UK dislikes Vanessa and her spoiled-princess act as much as I do?

Does Victor know Emma was responsible for the cold showers yet? I *can't wait* to see how he reacts to that news!

Yes -- ste summed it up pretty well when he described it at a I'm above this attitude. Depends if people see through it or not? I'm at a loss. Four series down the line, there really can't be any excuse for that sort of behaviour. She must know what sort of show it is, and what sort of people they want in there. Did she really think she was going to be sat around with eleven other intellectual heavyweights like herself discussing Proust and how many days leave one should give one's maid? Like so many people have said, if she really was intelligent, she would have realised how badly that sort of attitude looks to the viewing public. It's not going to do her any favours at all.

She also has an I'm above this attitude, so my comments still stand.

I'm nominating her for being a stuck-up cock-tease. I've changed my mind (it's my perogative). Yep lets get rid of Vanessa, I've seen enough of her. I did have a problem with Dan, because he comes across as a bit arrogant and above it all, but from what I saw he really tried to help/calm the situation before the fight without any over the top drama, and although he's not part of the 'hareem' he's certainly not in with the others, Victor and Jay don't like him because he's 'Gandalf the gay?' and even shell nominated against him (I think) - he has no real allies in the house. Shell is increasingly getting on my nerves.

Apparently the original bedsit plan was to have it in the first week and they both come back in the second.
However the person evicted in the second week would get to choose either of the two bedsit housemates and if the group lost the task on the Saturday they would be evicted as well.
Incidentally if Emma is going tonight we have to keep Vanessa in a bit longer as my money's on her going insane first.
