Rumours today that BB is to attempt to bribe a housemate to intentionally fail Saturday's live task. If they do so, they'll get £20k transferred to their bank, but the total prize money will go down by £20k. Ananova have the story here. I just can't see it happening. If the first person they attempted to bribe refused, then the second agreed, the first person would know that it had been failed on purpose.

Like you said, this only works if the first one asked takes the bribe. What are the chances that the people with the most outspoken views on the prize money are those ‘randomly’ chosen to visit the diary room. The most likely candidates are Victor ‘it’s a game, innit’, Shell – quite openly said she wants the money to pay off family debts, Michelle or Jason – both will think they don’t have the best chance for winning and will take what they can right now. Dan and Stu, I suspect, would turn down the chance for screwing the others over, as they would deduce, quite rightly, that such an act would lose them popularity and therefore the show. Despite what Dan says about walking, he won’t but he’s also been the most vehement about the fact he’s not there for the money. If Shell gets called, I think any popularity she still has will plummet, as her entire appeal is that she’s much ‘nicer’ than the rest of them.
BB has been so much cleverer this year than in previous series. Lots of the evil twists have either resulted in a great ‘reveal’ to the other contestants and the chaos caused, or resulted in the viewer forming very strong opinions on particular contestants – Michelle in the bedsit, Becky’s Judas kiss, the Boot Camp task etc. In fact, it’s amazing just how many of these twists have involved Michelle. I’ve now revised my thoughts on who they’re going to call to the dairy room – got to be Michelle. They’ve screwed her all the way through (first and final warnings and all), so they’re not going to stop now.

Ooh, I like that. Victor, Jason, and Ahmed would do it. Michelle, Nadia, Shell would think about it, I reckon Michelle perhaps would. Dan and Stu just wouldn't do it.
Excitement.

It would be a most interesting twist and as has been said before, only those who think they don't have a chance to win would go for it.
What would be interesting is if they offered 1/2 of the prize fund (35,000) or more to Stu or Dan to see how tempted they would be.
The total prize fund gets so reduced that there is less incentive for people to win or to be nice to each other or to stay.
Then start doing mini bribes to the others over the next few weeks. As the prize money reduces, they all want to take a cut.
Then during the last week with the four contestants left, they show on the plasma screen, each of them accepting the bribes and selling out their mates.

Sounds great. I reckon they'll choose Dan first of all as he has made the most of the fact that he's not in it for the money.
They're gonna be left with nothing by the end of it all!
