Mohan is SUCH a prick. Did anyone see his piece on how Nadia being favourite is a big liberal conspiracy by the editors of BB? He said something like "They've already had a man, a gay, a girl and a virgin win..a trannie is the next step." Note that "man" and "gay" are separated. He also insists on referring to Nadia with masculine pronouns. Prick!
Anyway, I don't get why people are making such a big deal about the fact that Nadia winning fits with BB's progressive agenda, and thus they are making her look better. Firstly, such intent surely isn't a bad thing, and secondly, they've often shown Nadia to be a bit of a prat- I never watch it live so my impressions are based solely on the flagship show, and she hardly comes across as an angel, just a likeable person with a stroppy streak.

Problem with this is that Nadia had been predicted by a lot of people to win in week 1 for exactly that reason. Either her or maybe Victor because a non-white person hasn't won yet either (Ahmed was never taken seriously, mainly as too old).
They do certainly edit to favour certain housemates but where the winner is concerned its more what kind of story they can get out of them afterwards as they have to represent Endemol in selling the show to other countries. Cameron last year was "Orkney, virgin, Christian fisherman changes life on Big Brother" but was so uncharismatic (matching the show) that it wasn't much of a story. It was however a way of getting away from the criticism of BB3 that the only people on Big Brother were desperate fame-seekers.
Nadia however has a back-story which is all about acceptance etc. She will also get them away from the criticism of BB4 which was that the show was boring. But really the winner of this year's would've been the one that was the most interesting to write about which could've been any number of housemates, especially after the debacle of last year.
We are seeing Nadia's less positive aspects (which usually arise through lack of nicotine) but its a bit like Dana International at Eurovision, if Nadia wasn't a transexual would she still be as popular and likely to win?

Nadia is a favourite with the public because she's the only one who went into the house not expecting to win. She didn't think she stood a chance.

Hmm interesting one, but I honestly think that although Nadia's transexuality (?) allows us to sympathise with her, it is fundamentally secondary to her personality. But the fact that she has this whole other side to her gives her depth and vulnerability - it is just part of her past, and subsequently people find both sides endearing. And I don't remember people predicting she would win - if they did it must have been a very small amount, because I remember she was outsider to win for ages, and I also remember thinking that she didn't have a chance in hell of winning. If somebody had told me before the series started that a foreign transsexual was entering the show, I wouldn't have said for a minute that they could win, because it just sounds like a gimmick. Nadia has shown, however, that she is rather ace.

Mohan is the second most bile inducing 'journalist' I have ever had the misfortune to come across (second to Newton). Would he be moaning so much if the likely winner was a homophobic, working class, sexist pig? I guess not. How people like him can be employed by national newspapers is beyond me. He write some of the most thinly veiled homophobic crap I have ever read (anyone remember back in the days when he was in charge of Bizarre and he wrote the caption 'sorry if this puts you off your breakfast fellas' underneath a picture of two men kissing from Christina's Beautiful video? Would he have wriiten the same to the female readers if it had been two lesbians kissing?)
Also, on the topic of Nadia only winning because she's a trannsexual - would the public have taken her to their hearts if she had been a vile, bitchy, manipulative cow? No. The fact that she seems a genuinely nice down-to-earth person is the reason she will win (fingers crossed)regardless of her past or who she is.

Newton is just a crap, slightly dim, journalist. Mohan is actually a complete cunt. His homophobia and general ignorance knows no bounds. I would say his career has survived because he's controversial, but he's not, as most of the Sun's readership probably agree with him. Cunt.
