My official pop shame is listening to an early PWL/SAW singer called Carol Hitchcock (see Hit Factory 1 CD or video) singing a Temptations cover "Get Ready".
In a nut shell it's a HI-NRG version of the theme to Heartbeat sung by a naked bald woman with the freakiest eyes on earth (with the possible exception of Evil Lynn from Masters of the Universe).
I've bought the 12" of it from Ebay, but I dont own a record player. My purpose in life is to find the Pete Hammond Extra Terrestrial Bass Mix. Oh dear.
I take some sort of weird pride in being the only person alive (probably) who wants to know more about her. Don't suppose anyone else has heard of her, out of interest, or knows what she's up to these days?
Other less shameful pop at the moment is Dusty Springfield's 1987 Hi-NRG album. Can't seem to get into it except for a song called In Private. Best of all is the 18 track electroclash soundtrack of Party Monster. Outstanding!
