Every time a new family joins corry there is a honeymoon period. I've tried to factor that in - but I still hate the Mortons and (know) always will. It is a Brookside family - supposed to be lovable scallies but are just irritating crooks. It is a real misjudgement, rare for writers of Corry! I find then almost unwatchable and will start FF through. Depressing!

I just can't work out what they are for. I still couldn't pick the 2 youngest daughters out of a line-up and the son mings. The older daughter is nearer in age to Sinbad (I always think she's his wife) and the grandad is just scary. He has too many teeth for his face.
Usually when a new family joins Corrie they have A Terrible Secret so maybe they are building up to something but daddy Morton will always be Sinbad to me. I think it's very strange that they have cast such a well known soap face (and if they had to import someone from Brookside, why couldn't it have been the lovely Philip Olivier!?)

Is Phillip Olivier not busy with Hollyoaks in the City?

Hollyoaks In The City wasn't recomissioned for a second series which is a shame as the finale was amazing and we would have been guaranteed lots of Philip Olivier bumming action.

I get the feeling we're meant to find them hilarious. In that case, shouldn't they have cast someone other than Sinbad who can do comedy?
(Yes, I know, Evil Child Snatcher Grandpa was in Early Doors. But he wasn't playing a thieving scumbag in that.)

Not keen on them myself.
Oh well, maybe in time ...

Not seen it yet, but I hated the Battersby clan when they arrived and still do.

Stick em in The Rovers with all the regulars and they'll be fine in a few weeks. You shouldn't be too hasty when judging a whole new family.

I see the horrible Morton mother is the nice teacher lady who took Nigel off out of the square in Eastenders a few years back, exercising her versatility. Was gonna post in Intersoapiability, but thought it might fit better here.

So far, all they've been are "comedy cunts." Garry and Minty in Eastenders are funnier, for fuck's sake. Edit: Yup. I want to hurt the son, and Sinbad.

Sinbad stuffing the bacon sandwich into his mouth and making those noises has put me off bacon sandwiches for a bit.
Bastard.

I meant to come here the other day and say something similar, but as I forgot, I'll say it now instead:
Sinbad = cunt.

I suppose it's more realistic that both the kids, especially the son, look like roadkill, as not everyone's attractive in real life. But I wish they'd just picked plane people, as we have to look at them everyweek.
Although a lot of the hideousness comes from all the constant gurning.
EDIT: Plane? Plain? Hmmm.

I can't stand Sinbad's stomach. That puts me off any Cadbury's chocolates I may otherwise have been encouraged to eat while watching the show.

The older daughter is nearer in age to Sinbad (I always think she's his wife) She does look really old and not in a loads-of-make-up slaggy way but in a slightly haggard put-upon way, remniscent of a lot of soap mums. Whenever I see her with her brother I keep thinking she's his mum. It doesn't really help that she always seems to be nagging him.

Hasn't Sinbad been brought in as a new love interest for Gail?

Hasn't Sinbad been brought in as a new love interest for Gail? Jesus fuck. That renders Corrie utterly unwatchable in itself.

The thought of those two together makes me think of those Silent Night beds adverts, with the Hippo and the Duck.

The thought of those two together makes me think of those Silent Night beds adverts, with the Hippo and the Duck. Sex with Sinbad must be like being trapped under a huge wardrobe with a tiny key in the middle.
