Picture the scene - a quiet Welsh hotel at breakfast time. Assorted old dears, business men, workmen, the bf and me. Suddenly from the PA systems comes music, very loud music. And it's Baccara, with "Yes sir, I can boogie". Followed by "It's raining men" (original version with The Weather Girls), "Hi NRG" (Sinitta?), and finally "Sorry I'm a lady". Then silence. I know hotels like to make their guests feel at home, but Heaven circa 1988 isn't, and never was, home.

Perhaps you weren't the only gay in the village Apparently the chef liked "something lively to get him going in the morning".
