Just how brilliant is this song? It is one of those songs I could listen to all day. Fantastically Hi-NRG yet quite sad lyrics. She should do a follow up so we know whether leaving her fella for the bit on the side was worth it or not.
The only reason I know of this songs existence is due to the Queer As Folk sountrack where it was covered by someone called 'Obsession'. How gay is that?!

I always thought Uncle Pete would have made Steps do this. It's such a dramatic song and they could have done such a good routine for it.
Pop shame: My sister and I used to act out the video in our study, taking turns between who would be Hazell and who would be the person she was leaving.
Liza's version isn't so great - but it was a cover from the 70s anyway - Yvonne Elliman anyone?

I doubt she'd be leaving her 'fella'... try 'mrs' and then you'd be on the right track...
I loved hazel dean, she introduced me to the SAW sound which was the sound track to my teenage years.

Is this the same track sang by Liza? The way she sings "feeling in-siiii-i-i-ide" is truly lovely.

I doubt she'd be leaving her 'fella'... try 'mrs' and then you'd be on the right track... I should have guessed. The evidence was there all along on the front of her Greatest Hits: the hat, the crazy bob haircut... Talking of her Greatest Hits why is Love Pains not featured on it? I know it didn't trouble the top 40 when it was released but it is one of her best songs (alongside 'Who's Leaving Who?' which is a pure pop gem)? x
