I'm not sure this should actually be in 'Pop shame' because its just utterly fabulous! A long lost gem. Evidently it got to number 2 in the charts, such a shame it never quite made it to number 1, it should have. Great song, great voice, not sure about the hat, but love it anyway. Wonder what happened to the couple the TV doc was about? Are they still together or each on their respective 2nd or 3rd marriages by now?

It IS a classic, but the real jewel in Su's oeuvre is `Come To Me (I Am Woman)', which features some quite extraordinary ad-libbing by Su (AiiiiiiyammaWoomaaaan!)
Her version of `Band Of Gold' is also quite something

Oh and `Starting Together' was written by that unfeasibly camp continuity announcer that used to do `Prisoner' on Channel 5
Somehow that just makes perfect sense

That was absolute heaven, but what the fuck is all that knitwear about? I don't remember that from the 80s!
Also, I got faintly confused at the end where it seamlessly moves into some sort of post-apocalyptic The The video. I need things to be kept quite simple.

Is there anything on CD worth tracking down??

Until very recently, you could purchase a signed copy of Su's entire output from her official website supollard.org, which is where I've heard them, BUT unfortunately the site has disappeared recently, leaving me bereft of the latest Su news and its endless galleries of fabulous Su pics
I feel quite guilty - I should have purchased my own CD instead of acquiring Su's works from a third party

But with 45 profile views and 46 plays of her song that's one devoted fan!

Wonderful news! This is an essential addition to any record collection I'd say. I shall be down the post office 9am tomorrow morning. Or maybe 10, I might watch 'Don't Get Done Get Dom' first.
