Didn't Pauline fall down her stairs? I seem to remember someone sprawling down in a dramatic fashion.

Did anyone watch that BBC3 thingy about Eastenders Christmas's?
The guy who played Irene's toyboy fling (Troy I think) is looking quite dishy nowadays.

Having seen EastEnders for the first time in many, many years (mostly due to the "joy" of being exposed to parental tele-watching over the festive period) I've been left rather bemused, both at what's going on, and the intersoapiality, particularly the fit guy off The Bill and (I know it's not soap) the mother from Beautiful Thing. I think that's a photo from a campaign he did about testicular cancer awareness from near the end of his time chez Bill. I've been using it as laptop wallpaper over Christmas to scare my vaguely homophobic parents impress my loving family with my taste in men.

Sonia Jackson - her husband Martin's cousin is Ian, whose brother is David, whose daughter is Bianca, who is Sonia's half-sister - right?

Well, it was the ex husband bit that confused me - I thought Martin and Sonia were still married? But otherwise that fits, doesn't it?

I'm a little confused, because Ian and David are only brothers if Pete Beale is David's father, and I'm really not sure he is, or even if that was ever explained.

Didn't they divorce and then get back together again (but not marry) ? Oh, who knows? Damn you confusing soaps. Next time any of us can be arsed we can check Wikipedia. There's probably an article on Sonia and Martin's relationship more detailed than the one about 9/11.

My rationale:
3. My ex husband’s cousin’s son is my sister’s cousin too.
Sonia and Martin did indeed divorce, and Martin's cousin Ian has made a big fuss of being Steven's father, although his biological father is Simon Wicks, making him the cousin of Bianca, who is Sonia's sister and the daughter of David Wicks.
I did visit Wiki to check, and it reported that Dot chats to Sonia on MSN.

Pete is definitely David's father. It was Simon's paternity that was in question as Pat claimed not to know whether Pete, his brother Kenny or Den Watts was the father. Lou Beale asked for the truth on her deathbed and Pat told her that the real father was Brian Wicks (Pat's second husband and David and Simon's adoptive father).

Patricia "Pat" Evans, née Harris; previously Beale, Wicks and Butcher - you are possibly the greatest, if not the classiest, soap character ever.

OK, some more puzzles:
1) My half-brother's cousin was my half-sister's stepfather. Who am I?
2) My grandmother's stepdaughter's husband's ex-wife once had a fling with my husband. Who am I?
3) My brother's son had a gay relationship with my husband's sister-in-law's brother. Who was I?

3 is Kathy Beale/Mitchell

It was the gay thing that gave it away wasn't it?
Well done! You win a DVD of your loved one having it off with your father on your wedding day. Anyone who get 1) and 2) wins a trip to the bottom of the stairs.

1) Ben 'Benno' Mitchell
2) Bianca 'Bianca' Jackson/Butcher

1) My half-brother's cousin was my half-sister's stepfather. Who am I? God, how complicated. Yes, Ben's half-brother is Ian, whose cousin is Mark, who was married to Lisa, who is Louise's mum, who is Ben's half-sister. I still can't work out the Bianca one.

I still can't work out the Bianca one. My grandmother's (Pat) stepdaughter's (Janine's) husband's (Barry) ex-wife (Na'alie) once had a fling with my husband (Ricky). I couldn't work out any of them. There can't be many characters who aren't interconnected to the Mitchell/Watts/Fowler/Beale/Wicks/Jackson/Branning/Slater dynasties.

Just reading them made me feel a bit ill. Not just the complexity, but the borderline incest too.

I think the point is that she lost the weight by doing the shiz from the dvd. Otherwise known as not eating and making some silly movements to a dance cd.
