Although I haven't been able to bring myself to watch EastEnders for a good few weeks now, I love Linda Henry of Beautiful Thing and Bad Girls fame. She might be able to tempt me back to it, especially since from what you've all been saying her character is doing well. Enders' problem with female characters coming in strong and then being reduced to a gibbering wreck romantically involved with Ian Beale and/or dead is pretty legendary.

There is a small group of characters with huge potential, namely Lucy and Shirley. Even though I dislike Phil The Angry Weetabix, I would quite like them together. I love Abi but the rest of the Brannings are just too much. Kill off the Brannings, the Slaters, the Millers/Swans, Gary-and-Minty, Roxy and her ManSister and now that the Wicks family are offski, that leaves us with a decent playing field of the Mitchells, the Beales and Shirley. Pat can stay too, and I'd give Stacey a reprieve, because Lacey Turner is great, despite the best efforts of the EastEnders' scriptwriters to make us hate her, but I don't see the point of Charlie, Mo or Sean. I'm especially baffled by the current Sean storyline - having established that he's a nasty piece of work and a bit racist are we now supposed to feel sorry for him being wrongfully imprisoned? It might have been an idea to crowbar in the sketchy backstory about seeing a friend disabled in the army and being haunted by his failure to cope with his mum's mental illness before he was arrested.

Still, at least all of the Wickses are soon off even though I find Deano oddly attractive.

Keep Deano! He's properly fit (don't be ashamed Bungle) and could actually be quite likeable. Is the step mum off too? I can't remember if she's a Wicks or a Fox still. I like her anyway, though mainly because she had an Afro when she was in The Bill.

She's staying; it says in the article she'll be briefly off to pop a sprog, but she'll be back.

I don't know what the storyline is, but the scenes of Shirley, Pat and Shirley's friend last night were very well done. Any reference to Pat 'arris is worth a watch though, what with her murky past.

I wish I had managed to keep this frame of thought though, after being subjected to the overwhelming excitement of SisterSister joining, only for it to be taken away by LC like some sort of anti-Santa. I'd prefer Alex Mack to join though, with her powers intact.

Noooo, we need the girl from Out Of This World ( www.tv.com/out-of-this-world/show/2296/summary.html) to stop time and talk to her alien Dad to explain all the various plot craziness to us.

Kenan and Kell would be by far the best Nickelodeon characters to appear in EastEnders.
In the Vic Roxie: "So, what'll it be?" Kell: "Orange soda. Kell loves orange soda."

I'm afraid that Kenan and Kel were ethnically cleansed a few years ago:

I am all too familiar with Drake and Josh. Drake is the teen heart-throb, and Josh is the fat Jew.
To be fair though, Nickelodeon had quite a few black shows back in the day: Kenan and Kel, Sister Sister, the terrible Moesha.

Moesha was aweful though, I just hated it. It was like the only point of the show was that it was black. Kenan and Kel and Sister Sister were just shows that happened to have black characters. Moesha was all "look we're black but we're middle class and we look down on that 'ghetto' culture." And those random sequences between scenes were just irritating.

I loved Kenan and Kel and Sister Sister but never Moesha. Presumably because it was shit. Drake and Josh is beyond shite though. Nickelodeon is bloody awful now.

I tried to work out whether Nickelodeon got shit, or I got older. I think the former. Back in the day there were some great shows: Sister Sister, Kenan and Kel (even though it was annoying), Sabrina, Clarissa Explains It All, Rocko's Modern Life(!), Ren and Stimpy.
I liked the Amanda Show, which featured Drake and Josh, even though I was a bit too old for it at the time.
I remember when Sarah Kaywood(sp?), Dave Berry, Simon Amstell and all them were on it. Yoonia, from Moonia and Yoonia was hosting The Mint on ITV recently.

I'm up for Eastenders as long as they pretty just make it about Shirley and Heather and their 'Best M8s 4eva!!!!1!' thing they have going on.
Obviously being the way they are though, we'll get more Ian and Jane and Heather will get wooed by a mystery man with a bar in Spain.

~Pretty much- except Wikipedia aren't making enough of the 'I'm Your Man' obsession Heather has...no word however on whether it's the George Michael or Alfie Moon version she prefers.

I think Heather will die soon of a heart attack.
I quite like the Pat's got a Down's Syndrome sister storyline.

I wish Pat would do Who Do You Think You Are?. Her family tree is fantastically convuluted. They could do a series just on her.

Getting back to Moesha for a moment, I clearly remember Her That Played Moesha (was it Brandy?) appearing on the Big Breakfast once, and the whole crew started chanting "Moesha" in a plainly insincere way and obviously laughing at her. She gave an unsure "what a welcome!" as a reply.

I still maintain that the shows today are of shitter quality now. I can watch the older shows now and still laugh at them and be entertained. If I watch five minutes of Drake and Josh I want to hit the telly. As for Eastenders, i've haven't actually seen this "Heather" character once. All I know is that I recognise her from The IT Crowd.

Yes the actress plays a lot of obese bit parts. She was in Casualty or Holby as an obese woman dying of being a big fatty. I bet her and fat Pat from Little Britain are rivals and have fat-offs when they meet ay showbiz parties.
Worst opening ever. Apart from the "mo to the" bit.
This clip has the black power ranger (yes, the black ranger was a black man and the yellow ranger was a chinese girl):
And I'd like to see Drake and Josh come up with a better theme tune than this:

One of my friends spent the day working on Eastenders last week. I haven't spoken to him, but his sister reliably informs me that there were 2 cast members who were unpleasant to him and the rest of the "help".
I feel like a 3AM girl.

I bet Wellard was one of them. Fame has really gone to his head.
