Seeing as Lowculture has highlighted the fact that sequels are always better I thought I'd discuss the power that 2 has on a film. Particularly when the film franchise starts on a foundation of crap and continues to build from there. A few notable films I think people should check out because of their ability to take everything that made the original good and throw it out the window yet still end up with a highly entertianing 90 mins are: - Wild Things 2
- Cruel Intentions 2
- Bring It On Again
- Legally Blonde 2
- Charlie's Angels 2

i know this is changing the point of the thread, but there are sequels which end up being fantastically better than the first:
i straight away think of;
x men 2 austin powers: the spy who shagged me

Fantastically better 'Austin powers'!?!?!?!? Not the greatest film franchise ever, but a true enough point.
Bill and Ted 2 Urusei Yatsura 2 Empire strikes back Super man 2 Aliens But on the other hand Matrix reloaded Starship troupers 2 Caddyshack 2 Speed 2 Three man and a little lady Look who’s talking 2 etc.

Speed 2: Cruise Control! Yes, I can't believe I left that off of my original list, another success story.
The full movie title says it all really.

I was excited at the title of this thread thinking it was the sequel to The Power Of One - there is not enough Stephen Dorff on television.
Sequels I thought were worth watching include:
Grease 2 Back To The Future 2 Parent Trap 2

American Psycho 2.
Fucking awful, but worth watching because William Shatner is in it. It's always a bad sign when William'The Shat' Shatner is the only redeemable part of a film (and that's in a 'so bad it's good' way)

William Shatner is always the sign of a so bad it's good film. Even if it is just his role that is so bad it's good in an otherwise good film such as Miss Congeniality. Speaking of which, Power of 2 strikes again with Miss Congeniality 2 being made with the might William Shatner and an actress from Legally Blonde 2. It can only be a winning formula.
