I know we had a thread about this on the other board. But having purchased the special adition of Battle Royale on DVD i have gone all gooey over Asia Extreme films. I am currently in the process of buying "The Eye" on eBay. Can anyone recomend any other Asia Extreme horror's? I have seen "Audition" and "Ring" and thats how far i have got. Are the sequels to "Ring" any good? The people in the far east do horror's so well.
And Battle Royale II is to be no longer released at the cinema but released straight to DVD in August.
Also does anyone have a film cell from the Battle Royale Special Edition DVD? My special edition DVD wasn't special edition enough and i didn't get one. So i'll be willing to buy one.

Ring 2 is alright if you've seen number one, and Dark Water is also quite good, but a bit too similar to Ring.
Sympathy For Mr Vengance comes highly recommended.
But my personal favourite that they're released is Happiness Of The Katakuris. It's a horror musical. It practically defines the word "genki"
Ju-On is about the only thing that's matched Ring in terms of sheer terror, not sure if that's out at all yet, it's getting a small cinema run next month, apparently. Check it out, it's completely awesome!
There's one about spirals, UZUMAKI, don't think tartan distributed that one, but someone does. It's worth checking out anyway. It's rather bizarre.
Also, if you're still trying to feed a Japanese addiction there's some really crazy action fun, like... > Junk (which is about yakuza gangsters and zombies) > Versus (which is about Yakuzas vs Zombies) > Wild Zero (Rock band vs Zombies & Aliens!! EEE!!)

Dark Water is from the same director as Ring and is scary in a very similar way (although not as scary). A good ghost story though.
I can also recommend the film Uzumaki, which is very bizarre and David Lynch like, but engrossing.
You could also try some Anime such as Perfect Blue.
Try also some "normal" eastern cinema - Temptress Moon is very beautiful, and so, so sad.
And look on Amazon and see what they recommend if you go searching for Eastern horror! It's a lethal system (in terms of spending money), but quite helpful.

I purchased "The Eye" and apart from being fantastic one scene made me so scared i nearly started to cry and demand my brother come and watch it with me. He obviously didn't. And i had to go it alone.

God... I thought The Eye was quite tame. You'll cack yourself watching Dark Water

I've singed up to blockbsuter.co.uk and added all the above mentioned DVD's to my list. But Dark Water appeared to be out of stock. So i'm getting "Versus", "Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets" and "Freaky Friday". One of them scary. The others not.

Can I recommend www.lovefilm.com as opposed to Blockbuster. It has a far greater selection and really is quite groovy...
