Are you sure?!?!?
Only, I got Empire magazine this month which has a page on it, and she isn't mentioned once.
It does however mention some bloke called Gerald Butler who is playing the titular hero.
I may be wrong, however, I'm just saying what I see (in a Roy Walker Stylee) from Empire.

Jennifer Ellison is in it, although I don't think her part is particularly prolific. Emmy Rossum is playing Christine. She was last seen as Jake Gyllenhaal's love interest in The Day After Tomorrow. She's very pretty. Has a sort of 'classical' look about her.
One question, though; is the film based on the musical? If it is, then it's time for me to start getting excited. I know that most people despise Andrew Lloyd Webber, but Phantom Of The Opera has some killer songs.

This is where I painfully point out that the rumours are Jennifer's part has been drastically cut to a rumoured three minutes (or was it lines). She never had a singing role anyway.
The main reason for this is that no-one in a Hollywood film should have a scouse accent that strong that Americans can't understand it.
So that article that appeared in the papers about six months ago where the producers had pointed this out and asked her to take elocution lessons to tone it down and she said to every tabloid "I'm not toning down my accent, I'm proud of who I am" looks a bit silly now.

Oh, it's getting made into a film? I did not know that. The book rocks.
